Atheist, is your goal to "end all religion" or is to ensure freedom of ALL religion? As in are you trying to put a "stop" to Christianity" (not in govt but in everyday life) or are you trying to equalize ALL faiths?

i'm just curious. what situation made you tell yourself that there couldnt possibly be a God? was it a build-up of disasters in your life (or in others')? was it the overview of the world and how much chaos it contains? or was it a science thing? if so, what exactly?

i promise i am not trying to challenge atheists or make anybody angry! i just really wanna know.

"God", the ethereal, invisible being that is everywhere at all times not only wrestled with Jacob, but injured his hip. Amazing.

How theoretically possible would it be for, say, a girl or woman with HIV and a wobbly tooth/bleeding gums to infect a boyfriend with a mouth ulcer, simply by kissing? Any real, true-to-facts data on something like this? -- What about a person with hepatitis C biting a cookie, dropping & losing it, and a child picking it up off the sidewalk or carpet the next morning, eating it and getting infected (--- since they say that hepatitis C stays alive for 24 hours outside the body)? Yeah, I know its a wild scenario, but if those sorts of "contacts" happened, how much real danger if any would exist, and if it were indeed miniscule, who would ever bother themselves to care? I used to drink after siblings, even friends, as a child -- of course, I wouldn't allow backwash & wiped the top, afterwards; yet, you know that a lot of this stuff has been around unspoken about for years, and I don't trade sips on drinks & still refuse to eat off of a used fork. Ever think about it? Modern life.

the origin of the universe. The big bang theory is one that aethists most gravitate towards. If this is your theory, then where did the original object (cell, nucleus, atom, proton, whatever) come from? If "matter" is your proof source, where did the orignal "matter" come from?

The more I travel around the world, the more dismayed I am about the swift disappearance of anyone who has the knowledge and skill to make traditional handicrafts, the things that forty years ago were still commonplace. Back then, when you were in a foreign country, and bought a "souvenier", it was something typical of the region, and locally made. It was a real souvenier, because it was local.

Now all we get is CFC (Crap From China). Just recently, I was in Dubai. I saw these two amazing horse sculptures, like toy rocking horses. Unfortunately, nothing like that was actually for sale; everything was CFC.

Is there any organization that promotes these vanishing arts? It seems that, unless you are talking about phenomenally expensive art, no one making traditional handicrafts. No one is working with wood, or weaving baskets, making original pottery, etc.

It would be a shame if the skills required to make these traditional handicrafts were lost. How can this be supported

This would make a beautiful coin, to which no possible citizen could object. This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed. From my hearth I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.

To you first I address a subject that must be agitated.

I got curious after reading a question just now. Here's the source, but what is wrong with the argument?

Why do christians insist that they are constantly being critisized and "discriminated" against by atheists when they themselves critisize and discriminate everyone that doesn't see things their way? Is it possible in the small unopen minds of a christian to consider the fact that they are no better that the extremist muslims? Maybe not so much violently now as in the past, but do any of you remember learning about the crusades? Just curious to see what kind of responses I can get. And NO I am not attacking christians "morals" or whatever. I just want to see what kind of wierdos are out there. LOL!

I don't mean being showered with compliments.

I mean having a conversation with a person who has NOTHING else to talk about except how wonderful they think you are?

people got stoned to death, pressed, hung and burned at the stake?
Or more recently, a woman was threatened with death because of a teddy bear. What...we haven't learned from our mistakes?
I don't care if you believe in god. I don't care if you worship a pencil. Just don't bring it into the govt. That's what freedom is for. Have we not learned?

What's the worst thing you ever did at catholic school?

I'll go first. I didn't attend one but my cousin did. Her school was having a little fair and my grandma took us to it. We got bored and went into the bathroom to throw spitballs on the ceiling. When the ceiling was full we got the mirrors, then the walls.

I personally don't trust god, the tooth fairy or santa clause. I think it reflects poorly on our nation that we stamp our money (a symbol of our culture) with such childish absurdity. Might as well have a unicorn or dragon on the front of our currency instead of a president. Its absoloutly crazy to still have god written on anything in this day an age. I'll bet it's taken off within the next 20 years. What do you all think?

DES MOINES, Iowa - A federal appeals court ruled Monday that the state of Iowa cannot fund an evangelical Christian prison ministry program because doing so advances or endorses religion, violating the Constitutional separation of church and state.

Prison Fellowship Ministries, which contracts with InnerChange Freedom Initiatives Inc. and other organizations to conduct faith-based programs, must repay about $160,000 to the state for money received between June 2006 and June 2007, said Mark Early, the group's president.

He said the ruling would clarify how faith-based programs could work with government agencies.

"We're pleased because in this opinion there are some clarifying guidelines to help us and other faith-based organizations working in government settings, such as prisons, to be able to fashion a program and make sure they do comply with current understanding of constitutional law in this area."
