Atheist, is your goal to "end all religion" or is to ensure freedom of ALL religion? As in are you trying to put a "stop" to Christianity" (not in govt but in everyday life) or are you trying to equalize ALL faiths?

Ah deletion man I see. No matter what they say you will (once again) tell them what they are really thinking and call them a liar? Interesting...

Freedom of religion would be nice.
I have no desire to "end all religion", though I do think that certain parts of the world would do a lot better with a lot less. But if religious people would just leave the rest of us alone, and out of their wars, I'd be fine with them worshipping all they want to.
I do have to admit that yes, there are atheists here who openly espouse the ending of all religion. I don't agree with them, and I find that position embarrassing.

First Religion has been the root of many an evil and has never been punished for it. The biggest problem with a religion is that many of it's member truly believe that they are back by God to be above God.
But I must point out and I speak as an agnostic Englishman so you are free to tell me where to go!
I must point out that this scaremongering of the bush admin. has created a strong fundamentalist following, the Christian bashing that goes on here (and even I have done a little e,g. My Q about Avatar and blasphemers) is only playing into the hands of those who wish control you, the moderate mass.
By dividing you and blocking your minds with fear and suspicion, they are steeling what little is left of free America.
It's time for the witch hunting to stop on both side, it's time that the moderate decent people, Atheist and Christian a like stood together against the wolves in sheep's clothing.
Don't group people together and push them away, find and Identify those who use the word of God to do the work of the Devil, (Dress like Santa to steel your toys is the best I can offer to the Atheist)
Anyway do I have come over there and bang your heads together! so you stop fighting amongst yourselves long enough to see whats really going on? !!!!!

While I don't believe in any religion particularly. I would be way happier with the idea if all were equal. OK, if we could get rid of fundie christians the world would be a better place. But other than that equality would be nice for a change.
And if the weirdo christian people would stop criticizing anyone who doesn't believe exactly the way that they do. That is rather annoying!

christians call me deceived, call me a liar but here is a couple of facts you should look at before you place judgement on me...
evolution is a law of nature .... and you say it's a lie
but gravity is a law of nature... and back then the churches called the people studying and teaching it liars...
the world is round... but the church would persecute, slander and murder people for proclaiming it.. for the church said that the world was flat.... who is the liar, who is the deceived who is the deciever.... the church has a history of persecuting undeniable truth....
so I call you deceived and liars... I don't want religions making judgement on how my society should be run.. I think religions should be banned... for they retard the learning process of humanity, they condemn the truth and preach the lies... the world is round, gravity is a law of nature, evolution is a law of nature... no life after death a law of nature... there are many truth that the christians fight in every day life these are but a few truths that they have fought and no matter how often the church said the world was flat it did not make it so, no matter how much they said gravity was a lie, a deception a devil's trick did it prevent gravity from existing...and no matter how much they slander the teaching of evolution will evolution go away.... and no matter how much they preach of heaven and hell will it make it appear.... the bible has a few references to hypocrites and if you look at them in all earnesty you will see it describes the behavior of christians everywhere...

I do not have a problem with someone who considers them self a Deist. Church dogma [no matter which religous dogma it is] simply does not tell the truth.
Consider the fact that mankind has walked the face of this earth for thousands of years prior to the Jewish movement. Then came Christianity and said you had to believe in JC or burn in hell forever. So my question is this - what has happened to all those people who died prior to this movement?
End all religion? To end the lies is more to the point. To rule over people with fear is wrong. To tell people that all their sins will be forgiven in the name of JC takes away responsibility and accountability for the believer. It is wrong. To have no regard for other cultures and their beliefs is wrong.
People have little respect for others as it is - when you add a religion into the mix it becomes offensive.

Most atheist (like me) don't care what anyone believes, about 90% of us don't care if you don't agree with us. It's the 10% of the crazy extremest that get all the media coverage and so everyone thinks that both sides hate each other.
P.S. Because of the crazy extremest Christians atheists think that you guys want to convert everyone to their religion. It's just thats the only people who go on the news and tell there opinion and so its the only opinion anyone hears.

Each atheist will give a different answer. While religion is not overly benifical to its followers, there is no reason to eliminate them. I do want the country to be free for all religions and tolerant of all, as long as tolerance is warrented.
My major goals are to eliminate morality of any type being the basis of laws, and to ensure that all children recieve a good education without half baked arguments being taught as science.

i do not believe in mind control.
i would not tell a person what they can and cannot believe for themselves, now if their actions were in someway violent or in opposition to a peaceful society that must be addressed.
there are a lot of "poisonous" parts to every religion that should be addressed. i see no harm in getting people to question some of these points.
it should also not be a basis for governmental actions either. separation of church and state must be upheld.
i think the other major theme that bothers me about faith is the lack of credibility... the complete lack of evidence, and the skewing effect it has on reality which can take place if a person has absolute conviction in their faith. absolute certainty in that which is based on an illogically false premise can potentially be dangerous.

nicely my expensive buddy you look perplexed between Christiabity atheism and scientific progression. Christ needs absolute faith in God. Atheism would not settle for God or devil. Atheist believes that Nature is the reason for each thing and there is not any separate God for creation, maintenance and destruction of the universe mankind and different creatures. Darwinism and evolution and different scientific innovations till ultimately date did no longer or ought to no longer refute the life of a great organic potential a centric all-powerful and omnipresent potential this is the basis reason for the creation, life and extinction of all issues interior the Universe. The atheist is likewise the baby of God and he's not a unfavorable tension. As a real Christian bathe love upon him too as you like thy neighbour and God would be with you and bless the two one in each and every of you. In a nutshell Christ needed us to have self belief and love others.

My goal is to protect my personal freedoms from Christian zealots who insist that I must live under the oppressive and arbitrary rules of their religion.
I don't care what if any religion anyone else practices. This is supposed to be a free society where people have the right to worship, or not, as they see fit. I respect that.
But I will say I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that the only way to protect my freedom IS to do away with Abrahamic religion, as so many of its practitioners refuse to allow me my right to not believe it.
