People have their religons and all and don't get me wrong I believe in God and all...but I was just curious how do you know its actually real. I mean sure theirs the bible and stuff but to be honest some guy who was really bored back way back when could have just created it with no intentions on having it a religon. Then over the years it became a religon and it was all mistaken. Yeah sure then how would earth been created...But there is sience and chemicals and reactions and it could have all led up to a major event called earth. So how do we know that the bible is real and that god really does exist as well as the devil?

Does he?
I was always told by someone that God knows our future, but Satan does, too.

Then a couple of days ago I was reading about the same topic on this Christian website and it says that Satan does not know our future.

Where in the Bible does it say he doesn't?

Thanks.

For me, my religious views are completely unrelated to my upbringing; I have told my parents that I'm an atheist, but my family is Hindu, and I go to the temple once every couple of months with them just to keep them happy. I also rationally discuss religion frequently with my dad. For everyone else, how much does your parent's religious views influence yours, if you have chosen a different religion, are they fine with this choice you've made?

Does the issue of religion ever get in the way of your friendship/relationship? And if so, how do you resolve it? Thanks in advance for your answers.

I went to my friend's church a while ago and I was listening to his pastor's sermon. He talked about how Christians should spread God's word in many places as possible, and how Christians should not be afraid of people judging them, which I somewhat agreed with. Then he started talking about how he went into a Buddhist temple and started preaching God's word, that's when I thought in my mind "WTF?". I find it disrespectful to go into another religions sanctuary and start preaching something that they don't want to hear. I mean if that pastor waited outside and preached to him I probably wouldn't be as surprised, but he went inside the temple and preached to them. I mean I doubt the pastor would want a Muslim going into his Church and preaching what he believes, so why would he have done that? I found it disrespectful, I think there's a boundrary to were he preaches, what do you guys think?

If you challenge them, you are "against Christians" or "have it out for them". If you make a point, that can be backed up, they tell you that you are decieved by Satan. The ones on this board (not all because there are some really awesome Christians here) completly rewrite history to suit their own needs......and honestly wonder why the rest of us can't stand them.
They make Christianity look like a freak show. You peopl aren't doing your faith any favors.

I'm a senior in high school who plans to minor in a langauge. I've taken Spanish 1-3 in high school, but Spanish doesn't really interest me (not to mention that i've already forgotten most of what i'd learned)

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what language they think might be good. I would probably prefer to do a language which evolved using an alphabet other than latin's. The two that I am probably considering most right now are Chinese and Japanese (any insight into the difficulty of learning these languages would also be useful).

I obviously have a firm grasp of the English language, and I understood what Spanish I knew relatively well. I plan on majoring in computer engineering, if that helps with suggestions at all.

Thanks.

If Santa's so unhealthy and needs to lose weight. . . why has he lived so long? I love Santa being fat and jolly and I've been hearing some groups today think Santa's providing a bad image for the young children being brought up in today's world, but yet he's outlived everyone so far. What are your views on this subject? Just have fun with this.

I say that Philosophy is undeniably good for you, it deepens your intellect, strenghtens you and invigorates you full of reason. Not longer are you solely reliant on blind faith, but now your blind faith is surpassed by your reason. Your faith is subject to your reason, the best part of your conscious.

I, as you can see favour reason (acquired through experience, study and contemplation) over blind faith. Have I accurately described of how appropriate reason is.

What are you comments on reason over blind faith?

Also, why do you think that reason is 'better for you' then mere blind faith?

Kind Regards

Why don't you? The Old Testament is sprinkled with orders to kill those who do not accept you God. Even Jesus says that you should kill them.

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them- bring them here and kill them in front of me."- Luke 19:27

That seems pretty straight forward and Christians are all about following Jesus orders. So then why do you not try to kill all of the non-believers?

No offense to all you devout Catholics out there, but I've heard so many stories about people seeing her image on everyday items, that I'm beginning to think that people's imaginations are getting the best of them. I mean do you really think they're all a sign from God? If I woke up tomorrow morning, and saw the Virgin Mary's image in my bowl of oatmeal, do you think I could sell it on eBay for $20,000? Gimme a break!

Mary was the son of a priest magician who's father picked Joseph the gay, as her husband just to diguise his incestual relationship, resulting in him getting his own daughter pregnant. Can you show me evidence to refute this theory?

Is any one as satisfied as I that the protestant conspiracy theories about the Vatican killing millions of people are finally being removed from the history books? More people are becoming aware to the fact all protestant peoples joined forces with the Jews, the pagans, the Muslims, and all enemies of the Vatican to spread a lie so dirty the creators themselves began to believe them and fill their history with "vicious lies". Every word spoken against the pope is a lie and another protestant conspiracy against God incarnate, the pope. No Catholic would ever harm anyone or lie about history or the things they experienced, certainly not the Pope.

The Vatican's records show that only 5000 people suffered under the Vatican's rule, contrary to the lying records of all the other European, African, American, and Asian countries who lied with 'stories' of genocide.
See Wikipedia, not one mention of any Catholic atrocity...

Then about in the middle, stop on a randomly picked page. Now, scan that page and the facing one. -- I suspect that it will mention something that you have done recently, maybe even something significant to you. - of course, I am just guessing.

(By the way, I am working on not being so "bossy". Can you tell?)
