I'm atheist. My best friend in the world is a devout Pentacostal. We met as adults, and our difference over faith has never been an issue in our friendship. When people ask how we can be such close friends, one of us invariably says "We have far more in common than that one difference."

Religion is only an issue if the other person doesn't respect that I have my own beliefs. It has happened, but rarely.

I'm an atheist married to a christian and the differences in our views where religion is concerned has never been a problem for us as we highly respect each other and believe each has the right to their own thoughts and opinions.

Quite well. Most people I know of different faiths understand that we are all just different. Our friendship is based on much more then religion. Most of the time religion isn't even a issue.

question: Does using the Bible as 'evidence' bring about confusion and make-have self belief? no longer if each and all the everybody is in settlement one hundred% of the time relating to the comparable factor. How probable is that? WHICH version of the Bible are we talking approximately? wherein language and under what situations by using which man or woman? Does the guy have an time table? Which group of Christians? sure, using the Bible can bring about confusion and confabulation -- filling interior the gaps of the unknown. it extremely is complicated to get a huge group to form a cohesive, cogent, consistent consensus continually. because of the fact the Bible has diverse tactics of being interpreted by using diverse people, its use as evidence is unreliable. There are even people who do no longer go as so a ways as to "make-have self belief"; there in uncomplicated terms settle for and could no longer handle suggestions or question delivered forth by using others. it is much less stressful to easily settle for, agree and not undertaking. often complicated others suggestions and suggestions demands time, persistence, fortitude, a willingness to stick to good judgment and the means to easily hear on a similar time as attempting to appreciate an meant message. with the intention to have a greater robust point of settlement, the emphasis on popularity could be better than that of questioning. in case you do no longer question lots, or supply up questioning, then the subsequent step is putting the ideals into action. as quickly as the thought device is working, then the time spent questioning or analyzing would be decreased or eradicated. questioning the Bible for some is almost a private attack --- to them, their ideals and what they have based their existence upon. They grow to be so linked to the e book, that the different argument, evidence, good judgment will fall by using the wasteside. it extremely is comparable to the mum who believes her son is harmless of homicide rates even with evidence by using witnesses, photos, recovered homicide weapon, self-incrimmination and DNA. even with data the mum will carry directly to the son's innocence.

Religion has never been an issue.

Some day it might be, but for now, everyone around me (no matter what religion) is absolutely fanastic.

Plus, no one brings up the subject of religion, because we know it might make someone uncomfortable.

I've never had any trouble with religion, and I hope I never will.

I get along pretty well with people outside Y/A. I've never met another atheist, besides my boyfriend, outside of the internet. So I have to get along with people or become a recluse.

All my best friends are not of the same religion as I.

We have great relationships and when religion comes up we speak truthfully but respectfully of our beliefs, etc.

It rarely becomes a problem. I have a friend who is a conservative Christian, and he disapproves of me not being Christian. We both know nothing good will come from a religious discussion between us, so we don't broach the subject. We agree to disagree. I don't want to be friends with anyone who can't do that.

Just remember that all religion is man made, God said that He is seeking people to worship Him in spirit and truth. Religion has it limits. And Spiritually has no limits.

Religion never gets in the way for me. Where I live I don't run into pro-lifers or any other truly whacko types either.
