Why did all the Jewish apostles desert Jesus at the end?

I think it was the other way around...JC DID promise he'd come back for them...but...well you know what happened.

Probably fear. According to Matthew, Jesus predicts all his apostles will desert Jesus. But this is not true. However because Roman law protects at least one friend to accompany the accused, John accompanied Jesus, saw through his trial and was at the scene of crucifixion.

It is interesting to note that the women who followed Jesus stayed with him until the end; they did not desert him like the apostles.

The John quote is not in the Bible.

But all the apostles were Jewish!
As to why they took to their heels, you would too, they were only human. They came right back with the Holy Spirit's help.
And John never said any such thing!
Jesus said, "My God, why have you FORSAKEN me?"
It meant that the trick worked, that Jesus had indeed taken upon himself the sins of the world. Which he henceforth took into death and left them all there.
So as far as God is concerned, we are all forgiven.

Only one apostle betrayed Jesus; the other 11 (Jewish) apostles were faithful to him. You need to read your Bible....
