The people who wrote the bible were pious and too miserable to relate to fun.

Not sure that Ive seen anything about Jesus having fun..
but God was a little on satirical side in this verse

Numbers 11:18 - Numbers 11:20
Tell the people: ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The LORD heard you when you wailed, “If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the LORD will give you meat, and you will eat it. You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it—because you have rejected the LORD, who is among you, and have wailed before him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’”

man can you imagine...coming out of your nostrils ..yuck

Good question.

I have wondered and regretted that myself. Yet Jesus is quoted as saying, "My joy may remain in you" (John 15:11). This, of course, is primarily referring to his joy of the Coming Kingdom of God, but it must also touch on his day-to-day attitude.

The Scriptures do a good job of hiding Jesus' joyful moments, so much so, that many people come away thinking Jesus to be a somber, even dour, person. But I have read articles that have helped to uncover his more joyful moments, as well as his wit and humor. It's there; it's just not easy to see.

Because it wasn't written by Jesus. It was written by people who wanted to make him into the Son of God. And you can't be the Son of God and have fun at the same time, I guess.

Hmmm, I think you should read a little deeper.. What about the parties he attended? What about where he says to eat, drink and be merry? What about the wedding where he turned water to wine? He enjoyed himself, and tells us to do the same..

Peace and God bless, <><

He had a big job to do that meant more to Him than having fun.
