I didn't read your earlier question.

And I can't recall anywhere in the Gospels where it indicates when Jesus, or anybody, knew that it was Judas who would betray him. However, it is clear that by the time they were certain, Judas' character was well known (i.e., he was in the "HABIT" of stealing from the group's funds -- John 12:6).

Jesus' prayer for Peter's faith not to fail (Luke 22:32), indicates that Jesus was not "in the know" about the "fate" of his disciples. This would lend to the conclusion that Jesus didn't know about Judas until later on too. However, God the Father may have known, being able to evaluate Judas' character for a much longer span.

I think Judas gets a bad rap, because he wasn't around to contribute to the gospels, and the other Apostles never did understand him.

He was the only one of the twelve who was not a Galileean. Christ entrusted him as the treasurer of the group.

When Christ looked at him at the last supper and said "Do what you must do," it implies a previous understanding between the two. Jesus knew that he had to be sacrificed, and he knew that his apostles would not do it -- except possibly the most loyal and devout of the twelve, the one who perhaps accepted him unconditionally for what he was. I thinkit is entirely possible that Judas was acting on Jesus' specific instructions.

Why would Judas have killed himself afterwards if he was a real traitor? Would he not have taken the silver and laughed all the way to the bank? My take is that he expected Jesus to literally come down from the cross and reveal himself. All of the disciples were shocked an disheartened by what had happened, but they had each other. Judas had no one, and did not wait long enough to see the victory.

God knows everything. So, Jesus knows everything except the time God is sending Him back to get the church. Jesus may or may not have known at the time that Judas would betray Him. God knew of course. It was His plan from the beginning to get mankind back to paradise.

I think He did. He knew what the plan was from early on. He knew He had to die to make His point...He knew He'd be betrayed and denied...He even said so. Judas's actions to me, weren't a true betrayal. SOMEONE had to betray Jesus to the Romans in order that He could be put to death, and rise again in fulfillment of the scripture. Judas was the one chosen to betray Him, so he had to be chosen carefully. It was all part of the plan, and I don't think Judas burned in hell for it. He was a key player in a planned scenario. He regretted it and took his own life out of shame. I think that tells you how much he truly regretted doing it.

No that is where free will comes in. We can all sin if the right circumstances present themselves.
No more than his father in heaven knew that King Saul would sin and in the end lose favor with God.
Or that Solomon would sin and lose his relationship with God.
Satan tempted each one of the disciples. He knew one of them may crack under pressure. In fact Peter did.
But the difference was Peter was sorry and repented.
Judas just went out and hanged himself and when he was cut down he fell and burst on the rocks below.
Once your gone you cannot hardly repent and be sorry for your actions. In other words he blew it he could have been forgiven.

God knew it, but when Jesus was here on earth He was fully God and fully human. So He did not have exhaustive knowing of everything the same way than before and after His time here.
