I am me and I ended up here because there was nothing else interesting to do right now.

I am the son of my mother and father, a man now in my middle age, now a father of an eight year old and a five year old. I'm the husband of my children's mother, but separated. I'm the lover of a beautiful smart woman who is childless but an adoptive mother to a number of cats, kittens, and a collie dog. I'm a good neighbour, a dependable employee, and a trusted veteran of two conflicts, having served America as did my father and forefathers.
I "ended up" here as a manifestation of a dream and a topic of conversation between two women and a man, after some one asked "Where would you like to be when the bomb hit?" meaning The Big One. I responded, "at my favourite cafe' having a nice cafe' au lait."

Well, I'm not going to tell you who I am; but I've been 'here' on Y! Q&A since they first began in beta around '04. I'm here because I like this indirect form of communication and all the different topics that can be found.

I was born of the flesh like every other person on the planet.
I was born again - by the Holy Spirit of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, and became a child of God with an eternal destiny in heaven.
I received the gift of eternal life 37 years ago.
