*if so, to which degree do you think it is wrong...is it severely wrong?? why? who is going to be affected more in the long run?

i can answer these questions from my own experience, but i am more interested in what others have to say. i can, though, say that i once did pretend to believe (for many reasons) and the one who got affected and hurt the most was ME.

I am truly fullfilled with my current path, but I still have many lessons to complete before I'm initiated into a coven. Are there any Witchcraft or Pagan groups in the Houston area that are open to Seekers such as myself? I just want to share the full moon and the Sabbats with like minded witches.....

The old man placed order for one hamburger, French fries and a drink.
He un - wrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half, placing one half in front of his wife
He then carefully counted out the French fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife.
He took a sip of the drink; his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them.
As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them were looking over and whispering.

Obviously they were thinking, "That poor old couple -
all they can afford is one meal for the two of them."

As the man began to eat his fries a young man came to the table and politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple.
The old man said, they were just fine - they were used to sharing everything.
People closer to the table noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink.

if so, how do you feel about being the outcast (if thats the way you want to put it)???

hmmm, i am. its now been months since i admitted to my family and that made it clear to them i am atheist... though they have accepted it pretty well, i feel like an outcast. i am the only atheist in my family.

sometimes, i dont want to be the outcast. but i cant lie and say that i do believe (or that i suddenly gained my faith back), i need to be honest to myself. i dont want to put myself through more guilt by pretending.

how is your experience??

My mother used to say that it was bad luck to spill salt and the way to prevent bad luck was to throw salt over your shoulder. Here's my question for anyone who's familiar with this superstition.

Which shoulder do you throw the salt over?

My daughter and I were talking about superstitions recently and neither of us knew the answer, but I'm pretty sure I heard that it was one shoulder or the other, not whichever you prefer.

This is a serious question. I am an atheist, and I don't celebrate Christmas in any way, shape or form. I work as a cashier on the weekends, and pretty soon customers are going to start saying "Merry Christmas" to me before they leave. I can't figure out how to handle this. I don't want to say it back. I can't just stand there and say nothing. My son tells me that "Happy Holidays" seems to anger a lot of his customers. Just wondering what to say. Any ideas?

When coming from people who have never had any really bad luck or serious problems in their lives? Usually these people either have no children, or if they do they are still just babies who are too young yet to have "made their own bed",

Am I the only one who finds this extremely offensive and insulting when somones says this?

Is a person who develops MS in their 40's is somehow responsible? Or a women beaten senseless and raped?
A business man who is ruined when the bottom drops out of the economy somehow did something to cause that to happen? A health care worker who is stuck by a needle? The people in the Trade Tower? A child who is hit by a car and left a quad? would you say these people "made their own beds?"

Do these self righteous jerks think they are Gods chosen because they have had no bad luck or illness?

What does one say to such a narrow minded self righteous unchristian jerk when they throw out such a horrible cruel comment to less fortunate people?

Answer recently read regarding miscarriages and how they are caused (not my words):

"miscarriage is no one but a woman's fault. it could be that she's not too careful about her pregnancy or her ovary is just too weak and thats it!"

Am I the only one saying WTH? Regardless of your faith/nonfaith...miscarriage is the woman's fault? The weak ovary thing I'm not even going to bother with...

I am writing a research project about the Battle of Tours. There were a few questions that you could choose to answer, and I chose "What significance does the battle have for Muslims?". For my topic sentence I have "Because of the Battle of Tours the Islamic Empire lost power, Muslims became a minority, and the hard-earned powerful name was handed to the Christians." Do you have any suggestions?

This is not a bash on Christians, but I'm having a hard time understanding the overwhelming, dare I say hate, of marijuana users in the United States. It is a naturally growing plant...that according to a certain book....was created and deemed good(as was every other plant) by a certain Almighty.

Myself, I do not support abortions after 22 weeks. This coincides with the development of the neo-cortex of the brain. Without this, no fetus could suffer in any meaningful sense, nor even care if it was aborted.

We have been married ten years. He was Muslim/I was Christian. Four years later after studying I became Muslim. I stayed in the muslim faith for six years but never practiced much. Then we had two boys. After studying again this year I made a terrible mistake/should have NEVER become muslim. I wish I could take it back but I can't. Now he says that in Islam he is the head of the household and he is responsible for the kids. He thinks that is what the Bible says too. I am aware of that passage but I believe he is using that to prove his point but he doesn't believe most of what the Bible teaches. I think that is written to Christians and I am only bound by that rule if I can be "in the Lord." If I am not allowed to raise my boys in the Church should I stay with him? How should I raise my kids without church? Should I tell him they must go or else I am leaving him? He wants them to go to a private Muslim school. My son will start K next year. I need honest scriptural advice/guidance???

Did he ever achive orgasm? The conservative Christain would be apalled at the concept, but if Jesus was man then he had testicles that filled up with sperm daily and therefore would have to be secreted either by sex (no), masterbation(no), wet dream? Wet dream would be the most innocent. But what would the dream consist of? A women? A man? What? He had to secrete being a man, there is no way you can keep filling up and not spill over. No way.
