Answer recently read regarding miscarriages and how they are caused (not my words):
"miscarriage is no one but a woman's fault. it could be that she's not too careful about her pregnancy or her ovary is just too weak and thats it!"
Am I the only one saying WTH? Regardless of your faith/nonfaith...miscarriage is the woman's fault? The weak ovary thing I'm not even going to bother with...

I'm saying WTF not WTH, but the spirit is the same.
What's strange is that the person's claim also means that "weak ovaries" are somehow a woman's fault as well. I suppose he (I'm assuming he's male) expects women to exercise their ovaries occasionally.
EDIT:
A woman said that!!?!?? Wow. Just wow.

I have no idea who said that, but it is not Biblical as far as I know (and I know a good bit). Having had more than one miscarriage, I am seriously offended by the idea that this portrays. One of my miscarriages was caused by the violence of a rape - so is it the miscarriage or the rape that was my fault, 'cause I've heard both.
The religious nutbag or ignorant hack who wrote that answer should be taken out and... well, I don't really believe in violence. Perhaps he should be taken out and forced to listen to Jethro Tull music (which I happen to like, but a fundie would hate) for days on end.
OK, my sarcasm and nastiness are over...
Edit: Wow - just read that a woman said that. I want to find her and hug her and tell her the truth. I ache for a woman who believes that, especially when stats say almost all women will have a miscarriage at some point, whether they know it or not.

for your quote - Ignorance is bliss....
ovaries can be weak and there are a multitude of reasons miscarriages can happen. Of course problems in the womans body, but outside influences of course can affect it. An abusive husband, stressful job...too much raspberry tea...
Give me a break. It sounded like that quote came from a scorned man...

The claim is utterly preposterous. Miscarriages typically happen because of a genetic defect of some sort; the meiosis process isn't perfect and errors do occur. Downs' syndrome is an example of such an error -- non-lethal in that case.

Hey come down, it was obviously a guy who just wanted to upset you, there is no biblical passage that says that miscarring a child is womans fault, cause it's not, unless the woman is totally careless.
God will not punish a woman who miscarries a child if she did nothing to miscarry the child.

Woman who get repeated miscarriages should have a blood test for antiphospholipid syndrome (sticky blood).

I'd be willing to bet that woman is a victim of a religion where her worth is only in her capacity to breed... how truly sad.
