I am an independent woman who does not require a man to support me or make me happy. I can hold my hold my own with men. I can work on my car, hunt, fish, and make my own living. Not to many of those before the 1960s. I never wanted to use feminine wiles to get what I wanted. I never wanted to appear weak and helpless. I would have been governor of Wyoming in the 1880s.

I'd be a midwife. Well known to help everyone whether they had a penny or an egg to pay. I'd be instrumental in helping large families from the babes to the seniors. So the family structure would have a better chance of staying in tact. With Grandparents taking care of small ones while older kids help Father work in the fields, stock yard etc.Because I'd know everyone I'd be valuable to the town leaders and the sheriff. They'd heed my advice if someone acted out of character and they had to decide between hanging, prison or probation working in your community doing farm and garden work for the elderly, widows disabled etc.

I've always wanted to live in the 1800's and own a very big ranch. I love animals and I could help with everything from cooking to running the business. We'd have lots of folks there working with us. All the kids, girls and boys would be involved by being hands on. They'd be educated and knowledgeable of the workings of our business. We'd be known far and wide for our close knit family and friends and our advanced way of thinking at that time.

If I lived in the 1930s, during the heyday of Marxist and Progressive political causes of one sort or another I think I would be a peculiar cultural icon: a conservative folk singer. LOL!

I would never have worn those horrible long dresses and all that underwear and petticoats. I would have been straddling my horse with pants on and I would have carried a gun.
