womens head coverings in the church...i was bought up in the brethren who do have women wear head coverings and don't talk during the meetings. Now I'm at New Frontiers church and wear jeans and grown a lot more spiritually :) But I've recently felt quite strongly convicted about headcoverings...are we just interpreting the bible to suit our needs or should we take things that are in black and white (i.e. corinthians) literally?

Really, I believe homosexual activity is a sin, but I cannot figure out why we point to Leviticus, because then it makes us look like we are picking and choosing what is a sin because Leviticus condemms so much activity.

Religious believers: could you cope if you could not pray, attend church, or openly express your religion etc. because you would be killed?

Atheists/agnostics: If you had to choose between pretending to be a believer your entire life or being killed, what would you choose?

No offence meant to anyone, I'm just curious how strongly all the R&S users feel about their beliefs. Thank you!

I was hearing the radio & they went to commercials. Already the Christmas commercials have already started. During one of the christmas commercials they had Sant Claus Shout his usual ho ho ho but instead of Merry Christmas it was Happy Holidays. When will the politically correct morons realize that the majority of people don't like trying to be forced to say something different despite the attempts to shove it down our throats. I will continue to say Merry Chrsitmas & i don't care who likes it or don't like it. Where are the complaints when someone says Happy Hanukkah or Happy Kwanzaa? The usual double standard must stop.

When I was 15, about 2 yrs ago, I signed up for a Wicca 101 class, i called my teacher, she asks me how old i was, i told her i was 15, she asks if my parents will allow me, to take classes. My mom will never let me practice witchcraft, she tries to stop me, then she gives up. So I said to her, She'll let me do anything that not involve drugs.

since her class doesnt have drugs, this is telling the truth, yet it's lying.

It's online, then i told mother I'm taking CPR classes.

Is this lying?

Immitation Israel is the leading cause of all conflict.
The real one died a long time ago.
Let's put this new Israel to the test to see if they are truly God's chosen people. Let's be neutral and leave Israel alone. Surely God will save them from their enemies if they are indeed his chosen people. Maybe if we stay out of it, God will part the Persian Gulf and swallow up all the Iranians, er somethin' like that.

If you were to choose among the ten commandments, which one do you think encompasses all? I am not ridiculing the commandments but just asking opinions on this matter.

I think Christians expecting members of their churches to donate 10% of their annual eaqrnings is an outrage!
People should whatever they want, not 10% of their annual earnings!

Islam is about 300 to 400 years younger than Christianity. The Reformation arose, in part, to stop the barbaric acts of the Roman Bishop and his minions. The Roman Bishop, the so-called "pope", was engaging in behavior that was anti-Christian much the same way that segments of Muslims participate in anti-Islamic behavior.

The pope and his church were killing people in much the same way that Muslim terrorists are and they both had designs on forcing their way of life onto others.

Is Islam now ripe for a reformation like Christianity was in the 1600s?

Don't me wrong, getting gifts, festive feasts, and goodies is nice, however it's Jesus Christ's birthday and we are supposed think of him on this day.
By thinking him, I mean thinking about the needy, who are less fortunate, especially smal children by donating some money, whatever amount you can spare to the Salvation Army, and also enjoy your Christmas.
Some people just don't care. They just want to grab all the most expensive items at the cheapest prices on Christmas instead of thinking of Jesus, being with their families, having donated some money to Salvation Army, even buying a gift for a needy child and giving to the Salvation Army to give out to the child on Christmas morning.
I'm not saying donate a large sum of money to the church, personally I think the churches expecting people to donate 10% of their annual earnings to the church is outragous!
