" And when My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I respond to the dua (prayer) of every suppliant when they calle on Me " [ Quran 2:186 ]

1. Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the life to come and keep us safe from the torment of the Fire (2:201)

2. Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance and make our foothold sure and give us help against those who reject faith. (2:250)

3. Our Lord! Take us not to task if we forget or fall into error. (2:286)

4. Our Lord! Lay not upon us such a burden as You did lay upon those before us. (2:286)

5. Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear, grant us forgiveness and have mercy on us. You are our Protector. Help us against those who deny the truth. (2:286)

6. Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate from the truth after selves, and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost! (7:23)

First thing to understand is: Prayer is NOT worship.

One more time: PRAYER.. ..IS.. ..NOT ... WORSHIP

Prayer is a "request". When we pray to those who have gone to heaven ahead of us, we are making a "request" of them. And what is that request? It is that THEY pray for US. Protestants do it all the time, but they limit themselves to making this request only of people still on earth. In this, the protestant view of the Church is very narrow. You see, Romans 8: 38-39 says: "neither death nor life... ...neither the present nor the future.. ..neither height nor depth, nor anything else.. ..will be able to separate us". The Family of God transcends death. We ALL LIVE IN CHRIST.

Hebrews 12: 22-24 says that as we approach God, Jesus and the angels, we also approach "the spirits of righteous men made perfect". In other words, THE SAINTS

Catholic crusader is on a crusade to show the Catholic church is the true church tonight. I had planned to leave Catholics alone but someone needs to show the truth. Have you read the parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew. Have you ever thought about it this way. Jesus is the planter. He planted the wheat. The true gospel. Then the Catholic church came in and planted man's tradition (the tares). Rather than being the true church is it possible instead that the Catholics have planted the tares in the wheat of the Lord?

I go to college in california, and it seems like everyone is drinking... even shyest girl in my class! I'm 19 and i've never drunk alcohol before. I've never smoked either.

The thing is that I want to make friends, and will people think i'm not cool because I refuse to drink? I'm really into bodybuilding and beer is loaded with calories. Can I still make cool friends and socialize without drinking beers?

And girls... do you find guys who don't drink unattractive?

What should a Muslim do when disease is confirmed
A. Accept it as a will of God as kaffara for his sin, and ask him to remove the affliction.

"If God touches thee with affliction, none can remove it- but He: if He touches thee with happiness He has power over all thing."
6:17

B. Many Muslims won't seek early medical attention, contrary to the Prophet's practice and teaching. In Christianity there is a sect believing in faith healing who have let their members die rather than go to the physician.

Usamah Bin Shareek (Ra) Reports "I was with the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) and some Arabs came to him asking "O Messenger of Allah, do we take medicine for any disease.-"-He said, "Yes, 0 You servants of Allah take medicine as Allah (SWT) has not created a disease without creating a cure except for one. They asked which one, he replied old age'.

C. Increase your knowledge of health and disease, of medications and side effects. This knowledge is not a monopoly of doctors. You can have it, and use it in preventing the illness, recognizing it early when symptoms appear, seeking early medical attention, then monitoring the course of disease, implementing the treatment (i.e. knowledge of diet for diabetics) and recognizing side effects of the medicine. Those of my patients who do as the above, make me very happy that I can trust their health to them as they do trust it to me.

In summary, our healthy body is a gift from God, we are the trustees, we should not misuse it, nor provide wrong raw product for the factory. and should keep superb maintenance of this delicate and sensitive machine, in order to enjoy it will be the container of our soul.http://www.islam-usa.com/im6.html

The spiritual care involves the acts of worship. The problem is that Iman cannot be translated into belief, nor Salaat into prayer, Nor Wadu into washing hand, face and feet nor; Sawm into fasting nor Sakat into charity nor Haii into pilgrimage to Mecca. T'hey are entitles in themselves.

A. Iman:The belief in God is the first and foremost important need for spiritual stability. Belief in God includes belief in his aU attributes, his angels, his books, the day of judgement, the heaven and hell and belief that - all good and bad is within his reach. Imam Rumi has called faith being superior to prayers. In illness, according to Imam Ghazai, the awareness of God increases and man becomes closer to God by realizing his own weakness. Without true belief, neither our prayer, nor charity, nor fasting nor pilgrimage will be accepted. The essence of belief is to rid ourselves of all false Gods around us, or within us, and to worship no one except God alone.

B.Salat: There are three health aspects of Salat
I. Wadu: Washing all the exposed areas of the body, hand, feet, face, mouth, nostrils etc. 5 times a day is a healthy preventive procedure. Hand washing is being emphasized more and more in hospitals now in order to prevent spread of germs. However non-Muslims did not know that hand- washing is so important - it has been ordered in Qu'ran (5:7) 1400 years ago. And for complete cleanliness bathing is advised (4:43)

2. Recitation of Quran: Has a healing effect on body, mind and heart. These healing effects are due to the effect of sound (Echo) and the meaning. The letter Alif resounds unto the Echoes to heart and the letter YA resounds unto Echoes to the pineal gland in the brain.

"O Mankind: There has come to you a direction front your Lord and a healing for the (disease) in your hearts - and for those who believe a guidance and mercy !!"
10:57

"We sent down in the Quran that which is healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss". The movement in Salaat are mild, uniform, and involve all muscles and joints. The caloric output is desired to keep the energy balance."
17:82

C: Zakat (Charity): The word itself means purification and growth. Here it is meant to imply the purification of legitimately earned wealth. Many of our crimes are committed with money or for love of money, and in the love of money one becomes violent in behavior.

And he is violent in his love of wealth:
100:8

In Islam the ownership of wealth belongs to God. We are the disposer of that trust. Therefore, this concept establishes peace at heart and our behavior in the loss of money or unusual gain, In either way, we thank God.

D. Sawm: The Islamic fasting: Islamic fasting is prescribed as way training of our mind, and body in self-restraints.

"O you who believe is prescribed to you, as it was prescribed
to those before you, so that you can learn self-restraint."
2:183

Therefore, during the period of fast one may not only get rid of nibbling food, coffee, smoking but also of anger and excessive sexual passion.
In fact, the fast not only gives rest to stomach but also stabilizes the secretion of harmones which control our behavior.

E. Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca): The morale is Prophet lbrahim's submission and absolute surrender to God's will, the opportunity for repentance, and the social and political gathering of the Ummah depecting brotherhood, and equality. However this can be used for programming and testing us for physical endurance, a requirement for all able men and women. The long walks, the heat, the sun, the thirst, the physical exercise, etc. is to remind us of the day of judgement. We should perform Hajj when young and physically well rather than wait for the old age. We should keep ourselves in good shape before and years after the Hajj.http://www.islam-usa.com/im6.html

to begin with, it takes about as much faith to believe in the devil as it does to believe in god.

and second this isnt either or. that is a fallacy that if you happened to go to college and take a speech class or english 1c class, that you would know about.

so why do people use this fallacy? its not either or. we arent anti-christs for not believing. If we hated christ and did everything to oppose him then we would be anti. But it doesnt mean that if we dont accept him that we are against him. Seriously, get an education and quit saying we non-believers are evil or that we are on satin's side.

http://blog.beliefnet.com/news/2007/10/atheists-wonder-if-fellow-troo.php

This may have already been touched on before; but this article for some reason can't leave my head. Being a Christian and in the Marine Corps I find it extremely disturbing. Reading this story seems much to like a complete joke. The fact that the Atheist had to hold a meeting among themselves, I find this fact alone disturbing; in the degree that it would be the equivalent of a group of blacks, or whites, hispanics etc.. holding a meeting among themselves. In my experience, it just doesn't happen. We lived, slept, ate, cried, and bled together; whether you were atheist, agnostic or theist, the bull#$*& that we went through only brought us closer together, NEVER tore us apart. We have always trained for war as a team, because we knew that one day the man standing beside us, to our right and left; regardless of religion or ethnicity might one day have to pull the trigger for us...

...While this persecuting does happen, its usually one person with some radical belief, and when it does happen that guy is immediately corrected because it is simply unacceptable. But instead of separating him from us, we embrace him, because he is still one of us; and his eyes are opened to understanding. In our unit; my atheist brothers would bow their heads to pray when we all were led in prayer, because of mutual respect and understanding we had for each other. But this article and many other disturbing reports has just opened my eyes to how segregative biasness, militancy and biogatry are spreading like a wildfire throughout our nation; which many men and women have fought and DIED for, and their lives TAKEN from them by a common enemy as a sacrifice... and all we can do is stand by and watch as it happens. So what did they die for? I can tell you, they DIDN'T DIE for this. ...so that WE, Americans can quarrel and dispute like little children who have been given a free gift on Christmas...

Its meaningless, whats the purpose? These freedoms were not free, enjoy them, they are a gift to us. Yet the media and politicians, whether democratic or republican, liberal or conservative; still persist to spread lies and twist the truth and instill propaganda because they know that the public is BRAINWASHED into believing everything they hear. Because a liberal media wants a liberal government, and a conservative media wants a conservative government, with that power, they get what they want. And one groups of people demands justice served, just as another group DEMANDS justice served. “well they do this, and they do that!” - I'm tired of it! - This segregation is tearing our country, families and communities apart; but are we not all humans? We should embrace each other, for the greater good. Because I have little faith in our media and government; I don't know if believe this story to be totally factual, and it seems thrown totally out of proportion. Either way; whether it shows, truth or fiction, what I do know that it shows is hatred and discontent, whether it be from the atheist or theist side. All this saddens me, to see all this work and energy being put to maintain the foundation of America, just to see it being savagely torn apart. NOT everyone is guilty of this; I am guilty, and I regret these feelings of anger. There ARE many good and exact people in America, but their voices are drowned out by the clatter of fools.

Well that was just my two cents rant; and by this time tomorrow or in a few minutes it will mean nothing, and will be forgotten. It's all meaningless.

If we wish to locate the Church founded by Jesus, we need to locate the one that has the four chief marks or qualities of his Church. The Church we seek must be one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.

The Church Is One (Rom. 12:5, 1 Cor. 10:17, 12:13, CCC 813–822)
Jesus established only one Church, not a collection of differing churches (Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, and so on). The Bible says the Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:23–32). Jesus can have but one spouse, and his spouse is the Catholic Church.

His Church also teaches just one set of doctrines, which must be the same as those taught by the apostles (Jude 3). This is the unity of belief to which Scripture calls us (Phil. 1:27, 2:2).

I have been pondering this philosophical enigma:
Let's say Marilyn Manson (the low talent death-rock musician) dies on stage trying to swallow a live rat or something and goes to hell. Now let's say that Charles Manson (the psychotic cult leader and murderer) is knifed to death in the prison yard and also goes to hell. Both of these pieces of human debris deserve to be in hell where they belong but since someone like Charles Manson is so much more evil than Marilyn Manson would he actually get good treatment from satan for eternity? If so would Hitler be like living in a gold palace or something? If this is true then would evil people try to be even MORE evil so that can have it easy in hell?
