in Psalms 119 around vs 41, the vav stanza, it says
"let your steadfast love come to me ... that I may have an answer to him who taunts me"

In what way is God's steadfast love 'coming to me' an 'answer to him who taunts me'? and the only place in Psalm 119 where an 'answer' is described for someone antagonistic to the believer?

I saw an ad in our local newspaper this morning, that is advertising the "Annual Fall Fair", at the Buddhist Church.

They will be selling Chow Mein, Sushi, Manju, Produce and Home Baking.
The ad also invites us to "Bring friends for afternoon tea".

I am seriously interested to know if this is a normal event for a Buddhist Church and if there is any spiritual significance to any of it, or if this is an event to promote community involvement.

Why do people join? What does Satan promise you except for fire, brimstone & eternal damnation? Do the special magical powers you get here on earth = what you give up in return?

I'm talking about the people that conjure demons and make pacts with them in order to gain earthly powers such as: manipulation of people, high ranking positions, power, etc.

I'm just curious if anyone knows what the draw is to this religion? Is it the promise of unlimited power on earth? Perhaps the ability to pursue any vice one wishes? Maybe just the fun of getting together with others in a group and conjuring the unknown?

I just asked if god has parents. Alot of people refered god as a "he". Why do people do that? I do it too. I should refer to God as a she. Woman give birth to babies ... woman make people. God makes people too. God should be a she right?

Ro 3:7For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

2 cor 6:7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 8By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

It seems clear that Paul is talking of hiding the hidden manna inside the outer letter or literal text and stories. Religions were created from seeing only the literal text (bread) instead of every word (Living Word & Literal Word) that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. The authors of the bible hid the hidden manna in parables and allegories from the profane. God sent strong delusion to religious minded people who exchanged the truth for a lie (2 Thes 2:11/ Ro 1:23) Man is always trying to exchange the invisible spirit into an image they can see.

I always hear things like "A huge majority of scientists support evolution" and I know this is true, but I am curious, how many of them are directly involved in the study of it? Like obviously evolutionary biologists and maybe some geologists indirectly learn about the idea (by producing facts on the "millions of years" thing). So what percentage of scientists would actually fall into a category where their work is directly based on evolutionary theory.

My question is really this: would we be better off living spiritual lives with our own understanding and relationship with God or do we need to follow an organized religion? I am not trying to bash organized religion, but it seems divisive to say the very least. Each one seems to "know" the path to salvation and the others are all doomed.

Seems a tad egotistical doesn't it?

if so, which types of procedures have you had? what age did you start feeling old and didn't exactly like what you saw in the mirror and felt insecure? if not, do you plan to get any plastic surgery later and what specifically? whether they are minor or major improvements/enhancements,etc, name them? did it drastically change the way you feel? are you addicted to plastic surgery? what do you think about old people that get plastic surgery? (mainly for vanity purposes, not so much referring to necessary procedures in my question.) do you think it helps their confidence to stay youthful or are they in denial about their age? do you think these old people are as shallow/superficial as the young people that get plastic surgery? and all other opinions? thanks.

If you converted, that would take a lot of stress off of you for sure. I know it has to be hard being an atheist with all the flack you catch from religious people. This would put an end to a lot of that. This would make your life easier. Not to mention you will have a relationship with Jesus.

If you don't want to, why not? What is holding you back?

I am trying to be nice.
