I saw an ad in our local newspaper this morning, that is advertising the "Annual Fall Fair", at the Buddhist Church.

They will be selling Chow Mein, Sushi, Manju, Produce and Home Baking.
The ad also invites us to "Bring friends for afternoon tea".

I am seriously interested to know if this is a normal event for a Buddhist Church and if there is any spiritual significance to any of it, or if this is an event to promote community involvement.

No need to apologize - some people do in fact call Buddhists meeting places Churches, most notablely the Pure Land Buddhist sect.

I have a feeling its more of a community fundraiser, although if you could name the sect of Buddhism that the organization practices, it would probably help in zeroing in on what exactly they are doing.

Buddhists I think usually call them temples. In these parts I'm not sure whether there is an organized Buddhist presence. I occasionally hear of meetings at one or another of our two universities, but I've never heard of a Buddhist Temple or other formal place of worship. From my limited reading, I gather much of Buddhism involves private practice. I've never heard of or seen a flyer posted for such an event as you describe. I have often been drawn to the teachings of Buddhism, and I've used meditation to combat adult ADHD, but not so much as a participant in an organized religion. I don't associate that with Buddhism so much.

This is mostly for fund raising and community involvement, just as many other religions hold year round. Its also a good time to see the church and ask questions if you do not attend.

i don't comprehend rather something approximately Buddhism, yet my question may well be if what you practice there is going against what the Bible says, or vice versa. To be a real Christian, you will be able to desire to settle for that God is the only actual God of three areas- Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Christians are pronounced as to love God and Love human beings. you like God by making use of protecting His commandments and you like human beings by making use of showing them compassion and loving them the way that Jesus loves you. in the journey that your existence variety as a Buddhist might conflict with you following God's commandments and worshiping purely Him, then i might say you will be able to desire to make your recommendations up on. i've got heard that Buddhism is greater of a existence variety than a faith, so this might paintings.. yet you may comprehend greater useful than me.

There are different motivations for various Buddhist establishments.

Some are very inviting of the public. Some are quiet about their existence, so that a person needs to seek them out to know they are available to them.

The more commercial, public places will find any excuse to put their names in the paper. Although, it is some tomes necessary.
