Occasionally I've forgotten the names of people, and ask my
husband whos' name I'm trying to remember by describing
them. And that isn't out of the ordinary. I've always been
horrible at remembering some names. But I never forget a
face.
But recently I was in the hospital for almost three days, with
several infections going on at once and also a heart problem.
And apparently I was so sick, my memory went kaplooie.
Never in my life have I not been able to remember if some-
thing in particular happened that morning or the day before.
But that happened with me. And it hasn't much improved
since I've been home. But then, I'm still not well yet either.
I am hoping after another dose of antibiotics I will be rid of
all of these infections and be back to myself again. I don't
want to be old before my time mentally. I'm already old before
my time with aches and pains and other health issues. So I
hope I'm not robbed of clearer thinking too. But life isn't fair.
And I should know that, as a prime example for sure. Now
I'm told that losing alot of memory often happens in hospitals.
The high stresses of sickness and being in an uncomfortable
environment, being sleep deprived from the hospital schedules, and having to eat food less than appetizing, will
do it every time I was told. So I guess I'll just hang in there
and hope for everything to return as before. As I don't have
any other options. As long as I'm not blowing bubbles with
my saliva or sucking my thumb , maybe I can get by LOL.

I scored 100% on a memory test and shocked the Dr. Non the less, from the time I was in my teens I have been known as, "The little absent minded professor." I have a one track mind which most of the time is in outer space. I can recite the entire history of the "Christian" church by rote, but don't ask me to add anything beyond 1+1= infinity.

kay , you are a scream LOL!!! My memory is good but it's the recall button that doesn't work very well. I'll call my husband upstairs and before he has a chance to answer, my thought is gone. He does the same thing and all you can do is laugh. My childhood memories are clear as a bell ,it's now that I have a problem with.

I find that my memory is reverting to a younger age, that time when my three sons were growing up and I was doing silly things now and then. Like not remembering where I left that cup of coffee and then finding it later in the linen closet.
I also can't remember sometimes what happened yesterday but can remember events from early childhood.

I wish it were a once in a while thing. I can't remember what I did this morning, but I remember fifty years ago. I put something down and hunt for it for an hour. I can't remember from one day to the next what's on TV. If I need more than two things at the store I better I have list. But hey, it not age, I've always been this way.

What was the question? I'll have to go back and write it down.
Oh wait. It's up top. Forgot that. Skip only one beat. Mine leaves the page, and the whole orchestra falls to pieces, and goes off a on a new note.

Yes, esp on simple things. I will see what I'm trying to say in my head, but it can't make it's way to my mouth. I even start describing the object to whoever I'm talking to, as I rack my brain for the word. Yet I remember clearly things that happened when I was 3 yrs old. lol

My memory has always been bad. I guess Lutien or some mineral helps a bit.

I hate to keep saying I'm a nurse but it affects the way I see these things, personally I am beginning to have trouble remembering.......uh....something. Jokes aside, I was taking a course this summer and in the book it said, can't remember where you left your keys, in your search you look in the fridge......getting older.......finding your keys in the freezer 3 days later.can't remember you even have keys.........beginning altzheimers.
