read C.S. Lewis "mere christianity"
he does an amazing job of balancing both.

Yes, they can.
Just because the predominant scientific community holds today that the metaphysical does not exist, doesn't mean it's true. After all, scientists used to believe all sorts of things proven not true. For instance, a recent thing: it was held for years in hospitals that drs/nurses couldn't have long fingernails because it increased the rate of infection. A few years ago there was a study done to disprove that. Recent enough that some hospitals still have the rule no long fingernails.
In short: science can be wrong. Yes, it will Eventually get there, but that does NOT mean it's there yet. And scientific acceptance of the metaphysical is, albeit slowly, increasing in the world. In fact, there's a metaphysical research group in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It's a government thing, from what I understand.
So, to state with absolute certainty that God cannot exist, or other metaphysical phenomenae, because it doesn't hold with the current scientific standings is flawed logic in itself. Currently, we have no definitive proof either for or against God. In my opinion, there is sufficient evidence of God, or at least tampering in the evolutionary process to warrent investigation, but scientists today are virtually afraid of delving into the metaphysical, for fear of following in the footsteps of people who made foolish beliefs in science based on religion. The pendulum swings, and it has swung to the far extreme from religion. Now, it is swinging back.

Maybe the concept of "A" god and logical reasoning can co-exist, but I don't see how religion and logical reasoning can.

Visit the religion and philosophy section of your local library some time. You will find that religion, especially the Christian faith, is the basis of many logical arguments. Many scientist over the years, such as Sir Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday, Gregor Mandel, George Washington Carver, and others, credit their faith in God as the source of inspiration for their inventions and discoveries.
Some excellent modern books that show the logics of believing in God include:
"Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell
"Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis
"Problem of Pain" by CS Lewis
"Who Moved the Stone" by FF Bruce

the explanation atheists reject the belief of god is via a bounce of religion, no longer that all of them comprehend it. As there is no way of proving a destructive, the atheist attitude can never be proved. They take the view that the finished loss of information for god makes it so no longer likely that he exists that they could besides take one step of religion further and end that he actual would not. the only thoroughly logical factor to be, in the absence of information, is agnostic. Having a perception in something isn't information of its reality. the classic Greeks believed in Zeus, Aphrodite, Ares etc yet i do no person these days might argue that that's severe information of their existence.

To me the concept of God IS logical. Nothing so complex as our entire world and solar system could be an accident, everything working perfectly....it's just amazing to me.
Just the simple fact that we see in color and not JUST color but hues and variations. There is just TOO much for there not to have been a plan involved.
The belief in God and evolution does fit together you just need to have an open mind.
Blessings!!

catholic crusader has just proved there is no god because none of what he said makes any sense.
as far as god and logical reasoning, i think the concept of god is not logical. we know that matter can not be created. what there is is all there is.
Even so, there is room to take issue with the big bang theory, but it has to be logical.

No and I do believe in higher powers but not a Christian God. If you do apply logical reasoning then it would not come out in terms of the rules of logic. I fully accept that I could be entertaining a fairy tale therefore I don't push my complex beliefs on anyone. Does that make me delusional? Well, I'm accepting the fact that it could be false so I guess I'm realistic.

the concept of god and logical reasoning can exist. the word for word interpretation of the bible and logical reasoning cannot.
my example- i believe in the big bang and evolution... but science has yet to tell me why the matter exists at all. so i chose to believe that a higher power willed matter to exist and several trillion years of evolution later... here we are!

Hinduism can give some mystical answers .
Who is God? Where is God? How can I come to know God?"
God has no names, but all names are the names of God. Whether you call Him this or that, He remains Who He is. But in our tradition we call God by the loving name Siva, which is only one of His 1,008 traditional names. Supreme God Siva is both within us and outside of us. Even desire, the fulfillment of desire, the joy, the pain, the sorrow, birth and death -- this is all Siva, nothing but Siva. This is hard to believe for the unenlightened individual who cannot see how a good, kind and loving God could create pain and sorrow. Actually, we find that Siva did not -- not in the sense that is commonly thought. God gave the law of karma, decreeing that each energy sent into motion returns with equal force.
In looking closely at this natural law, we can see that we create our own joy, our own pain, our own sorrow and our own release from sorrow. Yet we could not even do this except for the power and existence of our loving Lord. It takes much meditation to find God Siva in all things, through all things. In this striving -- as in perfecting any art or science -- regular daily disciplines must be faithfully adhered to.
Siva is the immanent personal Lord, and He is transcendent Reality. Siva is a God of love, boundless love. He loves each and every one. Each soul is created by Him and guided by Him through life. God Siva is everywhere. There is no place where Siva is not. He is in you. He is in this temple. He is in the trees. He is in the sky, in the clouds, in the planets. He is the galaxies swirling in space and the space between galaxies, too. He is the universe. His cosmic dance of creation, preservation and dissolution is happening this very moment in every atom of the universe. God Siva is, and is in all things. He permeates all things. He is immanent, with a beautiful form, a human-like form which can actually be seen and has been seen by many people in visions. He is also transcendent, beyond time, cause and space.
That is almost too much for the mind to comprehend, isn't it? Therefore, we have to meditate on these things. God Siva is so close to us. Where does He live? In the Third World. And in this form He can talk and think and love and receive our prayers and guide our karma. He commands vast numbers of devas who go forth to do His will all over the world, all over the galaxy, throughout the universe. These are matters told to us by the rishis; and we have discovered them in our own meditations. So always worship this great God. Never fear Him. He is the Self of your self. He is closer than your own breath. His nature is love, and if you worship Him with devotion you will know love and be loving toward others. Devotees of God Siva love everyone.
This is how God Siva can be seen everywhere and in everyone. He is there as the Soul of each soul. You can open your inner eye and see Him in others, see Him in the world as the world. Little by little, discipline yourself to meditate at the same time each day. Meditate, discover the silent center of yourself, then go deep within, to the core of your real Being. Slowly the purity comes. Slowly the awakening comes.
