It probably is. The way these are worked out however can be a little weird. If it's done solely on percentage then a small cult will always win. If it's done solely on actual numbers the biggest religions (such as christianity and islam) will always be considered either the fastest or second fastest. If the second one is what you are refering to I would think it would actually be christianity because of all the missionairies they do, but islam is also converting more people these days. In my opinion you can't get a reliable figure on which religion is growing fastest anyway due to what Ive mentioned above and also because all people in the world haven't been surveyed and in some countries it is illegal to be a different religion. Therefore you can't exactly say which religion is growing fastest but based upon current evidence I'd say it is islam

Thanks for the great statistics! However, I wish the stats to have been for the year 2006!

I've heard that Chrsitianity is dying gradually in Europe and North America. This sounds a logical step for humanity. Islam shall take over in the end; whether sooner or later.

Interesting question, but i think statistics can be deceiving.

For example, In North America, Islam Grew 25%. OK, how many of these are converts, and how many are muslim immigrants from other countries (Pakistan, Syria, Indonesia)? So did Islam grow, or did Islam move?

I don't think anyone can give accurate stats on these things. . .only maybe church membership lists, etc.

Besides, just because someone comes from muslim background, doesn't mean they really are religious at all.

Think of how many christians only go to church to get married or to have a kid baptised. Is that a faith or an inheritance?

Which means? Follow the leader? Jump on a bandwagon? So what if it's growing in non-white regions by presenting itself as an alt to white christianity. So what if it popular. What of it? Christianity,Islam, whatever. I don't see what difference it makes. I never bought a record because it was a hot seller. I only buy it if it's good. So the mullahs are doing a pro job bouncing around the third world hawking their wares. And? I fail to see that you've made any point. But thanks for the scorecard.

Jesus taught that only one way was used by God to direct people to the truth and to life. To illustrate that important truth, Jesus compared the way to everlasting life to a road. He said: “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.”

Islam is one of th fastest growing in the world due to immigration. But those numbers are crap.

Paganism is also on the top fastest growing in America.

Atheism is probably higher then both, but that's not a religion
