Commerials ,shows, movies. My kids don't need to see that stuff. I feel it is making our children more sexual . I have friends that don't sensor what they watch. Do you protect your children from the poison that's on everyday? Or did your parent do this for you, knew you were young?

GOD BLESS

These verses have played a big part in my life, how has what is said affected you in your life?

D&C 6: 21 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am the same that came unto mine own, and mine own received me not. I am the light which shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not.
22 Verily, verily, I say unto you, if you desire a further witness, cast your mind upon the night that you cried unto me in your heart, that you might know concerning the truth of these things.
23 Did I not speak peace to your mind concerning the matter? What greater witness can you have than from God?
24 And now, behold, you have received a witness; for if I have told you things which no man knoweth have you not received a witness?

I just got my first office job ever and I don't know strict/loose the office environment is. For example can you go out for a quick sandwich whenever you want etc.? Or if you're feeling tired/bored can you go out for a quick walk. How does it work?Would employers sack you if you're taking too many breaks?

The Halloween Witch

Each year they parade her about...
The traditional Halloween Witch

Misshapen green face, stringy scraps of hair, and a toothless mouth beneath her disfigured nose.
Gnarled knobby fingers, twisted into a claw, protracting from a bent and twisted torso that lurches about on wobbly legs.

Most think this abject image to be the creation of a prejudiced mind, or merely a Halloween caricature.

I disagree. I believe this to be how witches were really seen.

Consider that most witches were women, were abducted in the night, and smuggled into dungeons or prisons under the secrecy of darkness, to be presented by the light of day as a confessed witch.

Few, if any, saw a frightened, normal looking woman, being dragged into a secret room, filled with intruments of torture. To be questioned until she confessed to anything that was suggested to her, and to give names or whatever would stop the questions.

"An Alabama minister who died in June of "accidental mechanical asphyxia" was found hogtied and wearing two complete wet suits, including a face mask, diving gloves and slippers, rubberized underwear, and a head mask, according to an autopsy report. Investigators determined that Rev. Gary Aldridge's death was not caused by foul play and that the 51-year-old pastor of Montgomery's Thorington Road Baptist Church was alone in his home at the time he died (while apparently in the midst of some autoerotic undertaking). While the Montgomery Advertiser, which first obtained the autopsy records, reported on Aldridge's two wet suits, the family newspaper chose not to mention what police discovered inside the minister's rubber briefs (a large black dildo). Aldridge served as the church's pastor for 16 years."

I have no problems with what he was doing to himself, but what do christians make of this? Is this what happens when someone represses everything behind the cloak of "god"?

i often see the question, "why are so many atheists here?" with the explanation that if we don't believe in god we don't really have a right to have any input on matters of religion. so that got me thinking about things christians don't believe in, which brings me to my question.

why are so many christian's concerned about what goes on in a person's private life. if you don't believe in things such as euthenasia or homosexuality, why do you concern yourselves so much with people who do?

Constantaine commissioned Eusebius to form the the first bible, he had sole authority! There were dozens of Gospels, he chose four. One for each direction of the winds! Swiss historian, Jacob Burckhardt said he was the first thoroughly dishonest historian of antiquity! He wrote that it may be lawful and fitting to use falsehood as a medicine, and for the benefit of those who want to be deceived! In other words the ends justify the means, regardless of the truth. Constantine had the blood of hundreds of thousands of people on his hands, he makes Hitler look like a choir boy. Yet he was called the 13 th apostile, and St Constantine by the Roman church he had formed. The remaining Gospels and their followers were purged, just like Hitler did to the people he thought were inferior! But lo and behold some of the purged Gospels were found in 1945 at Nag Hammadi the most important one The Gospels of Thomas these are the true words of Jesus. I dont know if its happening everywhere, but I know in my area its uprising. Why is that, muslims/atheist/etc think they have the right to ban CHRISTmas and instead implement Holiday or Season Greetings. Though I dont totally argree with the freedom of religion, but sure, they can have their religious freedom, but let Christians have their freedom as well. Because 1 or 2 non-christian students decide they dont want to pledge to the flag because the pledge says "under God," they seem to believe its right to try and ban it? I dont understand, but that cannot happen right?

Every time someone's tried to explain to me why i should have faith they've described it in a way that boils down to being certain about something that's surrounded by overwhelming uncertainty. To me this isn't a valuable trait at all, in fact, i find it less valuable than gullibility since in that case at least one is unaware of the uncertainty surrounding the subject.

So, what is faith to you, and why should i consider it a valuable trait?

This comment was left by another member in response to "why do people hate gays"... I thought it pointed to a very "real" problem that lies within the straight mentality... do "straight" people keep their "straight stuff" at home??...

here's his comment...:

Most people hate gays because they (gays) say they want to be treated equally to everyone else, yet they purposely set themselves apart from the rest of society, the same way black people do. If you want to be accepted by society you have to be part of it. If your gay, keep your gay stuff at home. The sad part of all this is that some gays, and blacks as well do fit perfectly into society, but because of the "extremists" they cause their own people to suffer.
