If I were designing it, and I wanted people to wait, I'd have made it terrible until vows were made. Why didn't God?

Yes, but you aren't God and you didn't design it so why don't we leave the big stuff up to Him.

The fact is, God is good and He loves us and made sex enjoyable so that procreating our own kind would not just be a duty but also a pleasure.

But just because something feels good doesn't make it right. Sometimes it depends on the context.

For example, rape is "pre marital sex" but rape is wrong.

Food tastes good but gluttony is wrong.

Everything in moderation. Everything has its place. The place for sex is between husband and wife, so that any children which result from intercourse might be legitimate and have a stable home.

The primary purpose of earth life is to develop in ourselves an understanding of the difference between right and wrong through experience. Hopefully we can gain this more from seeing the consequences of others' mistakes instead of having to make them all ourselves. :-)

The "law of chastity" was given for our benefit. Some of the greatest happiness we can experience will be through mastery of self and through family relationships. Pre-marital sex may "feel good" at a very superficial level, but will cause misery.

see one of the commandments God gave Adam was to rule and MULTIPLY. Now see we are created sexual beings, but The Bible is very clear that sex was created to be between a man and his wife, for 2 flesh shall become one.. see wat ever happens in the pysical realm also happens in the spiritual realm, so when you have sex, you literally become one and so does your spirit becomes one with the person you sleep with, a spiritual connection is formed and although you dont stay with the person for along time, your spirits are still "tied" cause you give a part of yourself to this person, psychally, emotionally, spiritaully..

so now you sleep around and your spirit becomes one with every person you sleep with, but also all the others you have slept with also becomes part of this, so no its not 2 flesh becomes one, its like 10 or more flesh becomes one, and that wasn't God's intention....

Sex is something sacred, which satan has come and destroyed.....

the bible is very clear that any other sin you do is outside the body, but adultery and fornication(pre marital sex) is the only sin commited to your own body, which is a temple of god... and god says he hates immorality, not the person, but the sin...

so yeah to answer your question, its a pshycal experience and God created, so it will obviously be pleasurable and great, but enjoyed within the correct terms and that is inside the marriage......

Sex, pre-marital or post-marital is gratifying to the body because the creator did indeed make it that way. Contrary to the usual notion though, God is not some giant super-puppeteer in the sky. That was the best that our ancestors, could come up with. (With the exception of the sages, very few of whom had time off from finding enough to eat and a dry place to sleep to think about such things.)

I believe that a better notion of God needs to include the notion of God as one's ideals. It is ideal to refrain from sex without a long-term commitment for the benefit of the offspring which might be produced, and for the less obvious psychological damage that is done when invest so much of our selves in a relationship. We open up and make ourselves vulnerable when we are so drawn to another that we break the social and religious taboos and have sex. When some unscrupulous someone, or someone who has lied to themselves and well as to the other, kisses and tells, takes the cookies and runs, then we are hurt. Those hurts leave scars on our trust which sometimes takes so long to heal that subsequent relationships are damaged, difficult or impossible. This, and other problems which come from pre-marital sex in our culture and society, and for that matter, the cultures of our forebears, are good reasons why pre-marital sex is taboo.

To "sin" means to miss the mark. To fall short of our Ideals, i.e., to fall short of fulfilling "God's Law" does not make "God" mad at us and punish us. We are not punished FOR our sins, we are punished BY our sins.

Its hard. Our sex drives are, as you are obviously aware, overwhelmingly powerful. Because of that it is best to try to avoid situations where it is too, too easy and convenient to yield to temptation. Its not for nothing that the Lord's Prayer includes the line, "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil". We generally can stand anything but temptation!

One other point about the notion of God. If there is to be goodness, kindness, forebearance and love in the world, no big nobodaddy puppeteer in the sky's gonna provide it. You must provide it. You won't be perfect, so don't beat yourself up about it too much, but try. The world needs it, your girlfriend and her girlfriends and their parents and you need it and I need it really really bad.

Good on ya!

(Though pertinent, I'll leave out the dangers of STDs here.)

Lucifer did propose this type of plan - for everything, not just pre-marital sex. He suggested that we all come to earth, did not have free will, that he would make sure that everyone did everything correctly, they would all return to God, and the glory would be Lucifer's.

This plan was rejected by God and the one we currently have (Christ's plan) was accepted.

Who's side are you on again?? ;)

God gives his gifts to the those who deserve and those who don't. Rain on the just and unjust. But being one who has experienced both pre-marital sex and marriage sex; sex in marriage is much much much better.

Without .... FREE WILL..... we Wound NOT... Nor... Could NOT.....Choose to Serve GOD.... or...Not!

(Proverbs 6:26-to-29) For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

(Pro 6:27) Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

(Pro 6:28) Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

(Pro 6:29) So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

AND....

(Hebrews 13:4) Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, = = but fornicators = = and adulterers = = = God will judge.

Thanks for Asking! RR

Because it was meant to be pleasurable. God could have made it disagreeable pre-marriage but then we wouldn't be able to choose what's right. God didn't want to make robots but unfortunately that's what most people want to be, religious or not.

Hey scrubs I like that. I agree with you. I think CS Lewis wrote a book....Out of the Silent Planet - when the people would overeat food it wouldn't taste good anymore. Well, your idea works for me. Let's talk to God about it :-)
