ok so i watched it last night for the first time. i kept waiting for something really horrible, but it never came. i spent several years in the baptist and then pentecostal church so this was commonplace stuff for us. i left the church about 4 years ago altogether. the thing is, i kept hearing that at this camp they are training 6 year olds for war. the fact is when they are talking about warfare and being a soldier, they are talking about spiritual warfare .do people really dont get that? the dramas too are common in evangelical churches, the face paint and costumes...yeah thats all over.i guess...even though i dont ascribe to what these people beleive anymore, i certainly wasnt appalled by jesus camp. they are teaching children what they consider to be truth.

...the students came to him when they *wanted* the "truth." As christians, aren't you supposed to strive to be like Jesus and be a shining example to those around you? As christians you are commanded to spread the good news but at the same time aren't you supposed to leave it alone when someone rejects it. When I want to share something great with my fellow humans I show them, not just talk about it. If I claim something about myself and my beliefs won't you see it radiate from my inner being. I shouldn't have to talk about from sun up to sun down... you willl see it in all I do. Something to think about if you actually are practicing the greatest commandement of love instead of being self-righteouss and a know it all...

*Not a Christian but I think all Christians can agree with this statement.*

God destroyed the tower and scattered the people giving each a different language. Now does this mean that there may be some truth to each of the religons across the globe? I mean if he put some in Asia, some in the middle east, and others in the west, does that mean that each of the religons in their respective locations are just pieces of a puzzle to a much larger picture? Sorry if this is a little confusing Im having trouble finding the right words.

I mean... might God just be the Great "Am," and we are all the Great "I"s?

This is, of course, merely my own particular opinion and thoughts, but I don't see God as a personalized individual "I" like you or me. I see God as BE-ing the pure energy that IS you and me. And thus, I would say that God just IS, or that God is the Great "Am."

It is each and every one of us that personalizes this Great "Am." We are the "I" in the "I Am." We are the personalities that continue the story of life; that gives this Great "Am" its true glory.

Thoughts...? Feelings... ?

Question, In the theory of the "Big Bang" everything just exploded out of something the size of a pea. And one day, it will all fit back into that pea.

Where did the pea come from? Just out of thin air?

Certainly not on all of the issues, but the big ones....
..Seperation of Church and State. (Render unto Caesar)
...Feeding the Hungry (Beatitudes)
...Taking Care of the Poor (Beatitutdes)
...Even putting all the economic resources of one group together, and splitting them up equally. (This was mentioned in the bible, as the way the early Christian communities did it)

If the fundies say that evolution violates the second law of thermodynamics, by created more complex organisms, while they should be more simple by an increase of entropy. Does that means that air conditioners are an aberration in the eyes of god cause they do the same?

When all you had to do was be rational to the idea that there is more evidence towards creation than anything else, therefore more reasonable to believe Christianity than not.

And for those who say, "Party in Hell with all of my friends," what if you also realize, that your interpretation of Hell was completely wrong, and that you had to suffer eternity in something you had no idea about?

Well, here is a biggie:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" (Declaration of Independence)

Obviously, the founding fathers knew where our rights come, not from the mob or from government, but from God

Madison himself stated several times that the Book of Issiah is where he got the idea for seperated enumerated power, and the continental congress was led in prayer and closed in prayer.Several of the colonies constitutions even required a christian faith to be a member of government

The fact is that the religious and secular war was being fought at our founding, and is still fought now. What has changed is that the secularists are winning now, whereas in the past the theists did.

We may not be "officially" Christian, but our culture has ALWAYS been Christian.

I have to swear under oath in a court of law which is fine but why do we have to put GOD in it when there are people that don't believe in GOD in that sense.

Just so you know, I'm asain with some native american ansectory.

My parents will definately not allow me to date blacks, whites and abrogianls beacuse they dont want the grandkids to be too fair or dark skinned.I also definately can't date arabs or whites as their culture is so different from ours

My parents are more okay with hispanics and pacific islanders but you can't say that if i bring a girl of these races home my parents would be 100% happy but about 70% happy i'd say.

Native american and inuits would be completely okay with my parents. And my parents will be overjoyed if the girl is Asian.

I think my parents woudl allow mixed race ppl as long as they are not part arab, white , balck or abrgoianl.

So are you allowed to date ppl of other and different races? Why?
Do you think that my parents or people who oppose interacial dating are racist?

Just so you know i am okay with these rules as im only 14 and strongly think i may be assexual.
