Just so you know, I'm asain with some native american ansectory.
My parents will definately not allow me to date blacks, whites and abrogianls beacuse they dont want the grandkids to be too fair or dark skinned.I also definately can't date arabs or whites as their culture is so different from ours
My parents are more okay with hispanics and pacific islanders but you can't say that if i bring a girl of these races home my parents would be 100% happy but about 70% happy i'd say.
Native american and inuits would be completely okay with my parents. And my parents will be overjoyed if the girl is Asian.
I think my parents woudl allow mixed race ppl as long as they are not part arab, white , balck or abrgoianl.
So are you allowed to date ppl of other and different races? Why?
Do you think that my parents or people who oppose interacial dating are racist?
Just so you know i am okay with these rules as im only 14 and strongly think i may be assexual.

I'm grown so i don't really care what my parents would say. I do care what they think. But my father is Black and my mother is Mexican and White so they really couldn't say too much. They do have prejudices though, even within their own race.
As a child of mixed heritage I don't think that I would date anyone other then what I am because I had a really hard time growing up defending myself. I was ostracized from my shoolmates because I was Black and Blacks didn't want a whole to do wih me because I was White and even my Mexican family members didn't like that I was White or Black. So think of the kids and what they will have to go through. Just some food for thought.

Out of ignorance. They do it out of ignorance purely. I mean what do you want me to say about it?! LOL Saying that they are not racist would be hypocrite, and that's something that I am not. lol First the new generations have a lot to teach the old ones, and second, anyone who's old enough to date is old enough to decide on who they're gonna date for themselves... duhhh I find it freaking mental that people still discuss these things really, I mean I never think about the colour of my skin, but it seems like in places like the States, for instance, people just can't seem to think about anything else. The American president is black, well would actually be considered mixed where I come from, and yet the american rate of mixed marriages should be like one of the lowest in the world! And you can't even blame it on old slavery for ever, freaking move on from it will ya!!! I mean I have, and I do bare both the master's and the slave's blood in my vains!!! Jesus... We really have to stop making phony excuses for ignorance and teach the old, and I am saying this to all races of all countries... I mean after all it is 2009 already for **** sake!!

My parents hardly care about race when it comes to who I am dating. I don't think you can fully judge someone by his race. The more important concern is if the person treats you right and all races have assholes =) Whether they are from a totally different race, religion or whatever, it isn't the sum total of a person's character which my parents think is of utmost importance. It may create a conflict if you like someone they don't but I would hope they would also love you enough to understand and respect your choice :)

You're right in being assexual. This is all so confusing. I think that you can't help who you end up falling in love with. And it's you that has to be married to the person you marry, not your parents. It shouldn't matter what they think of say, seeing as how you are the one that will get married. I'm sure by the time for you to get married comes closer you will know what is really important. Good luck little buddy.

well my parents are fine, as long as I am actually dating, they don't know I'm bi, so if I brought a guy home, they might be kinda freaked out or something...um...as for you...why not whites? aren't they close enough to asian(in color)...I'm taking japanese 1 at school now...and the culture is very different...but it's also really similar, they do alot of the same stuff in Japan just ina different way...I don't think your parents are racist...but acording to my sister Japanese peopel are trying to keep their country as one race...I'm not saying you're japanese...but...I'm just using that as an example, becasue I know mostly about Japan(more than other asian countries)

I'm Arab....my parents will not allow me to marry a black person or an Asian person (by that I mean people from Japan, Korea, China etc).....don't know why, and I don't care either, I guess they're just racist. Screw what they want, I'm going to marry whoever I fall in love with.

well first of all .. with my parents .. i'm not allowed to date until i'm in university because they think that being in high school and dating could lead to unsafe stuff cuz we kids are still not matured enough to know whats right and whats wrong?
anyways, so my parents are obviously gonna have a problem with me dating another race ... they wont say anything .. but i know they will. they would prefer me to date someone of my own race. but if i'm dating someone from another race ... and if i prove to my parents that THAT guy is a nice guy .. my parents wouldn't have a problem with that.

Date who you want.
It is ridiculous to try and control skin tone!
Asian people cover up not to get dark and white people
go to tanning salons to get dark.
Everyone is confused.
Apparently since you ar OK with the rules your parents
have set forth, they have managed to distort your views already.
sorry.

my mom told me that when i started dating a black girl back in high school that if i accepted the fact that people would stare and that some people might say something then she didn't care. if i was willing to deal with whatever might happen then there would be no reason not to.
