In the Board of Education of Kiryas Joel Village School District v. Grumet, 512 U.S. 687 (1994), Justice David Souter, writing for the majority, concluded that "government should not prefer one religion to another, or religion to irreligion".

Isnt bush breaking this amendment, by claiming that he is working for the christian god? He is directly justifing his actions in the office by his beliefs.

Our forefathers, the greatest patriots in american history, stressed the importance of seperation of religion and the state. ITS IN THE VERY FIRST AMENDMENT.
So, for bush to go against this, makes him an anti-patriot, and "anti-american". Why dont more people get upset about this?

I know many True Christians have expressed their dismay at their bretheren for being so harsh on non Christians and so have Non Christians done the same. How would you handle those who say they are of your Faith and hide behind your bible and faith and then use it as an excuse to lash out and belittle and tell people they will go to hell. How do you handle them within your own faith?

I am not Christian but I know a true Christian does not believe in being cruel or thumbing people down because they disagree. They will turn the other cheek and respect others opinions as the True Christians I know do. So how would you go about knowing who is a true follower versus someone hiding behind your Faith?

For me it is easy, they cant cite and scriptures and it is easy for my faith because im Native American and it narrows it down easy for me, but what do you all do? Im not bashing faith, just those that hide behind it and actually harm it to those who respect it. Please only honest answers!!

I've lived in 5 apartments in my life. Of all those apartments, all of the managers' attitudes have ranged from mildly rude to down right sneaky and mean! Why is this? They have also all been white women, varying in ages. The current apartment I am in has probably the worst/meanest management of all the apartments I have lived in--and that's pretty bad.

Seriously, has anyone else noticed this? They are some of the unhappiest people in the world.

Fellow Christians,
I live in an apt. complex. There is a woman who is NOT allowed on property. She is wanted for a felony and she has committed crimes on property. I do not have anything against her personally, but I do not trust her. She came over to my apt. this morning to use the phone. I let her in and she stayed about an hour. I did not like her being here, but felt scared to not let her in. I don't know why. Anyway, after she left I called the managers office to make sure that she was, indeed, not allowed on property and they confirmed it. Then I reported to them that she had been on property and had came to my apt. And they gave me the name and number of who to call next time I see her. They assured me that my name would not be disclosed. I feel bad now, like I committed a sin. I did not report her out of vindictiveness or spite. I did it, because I do not feel safe with these people that are not allowed on the property, still hanging out over here. Plus, I know

Will you tell me the truth, if you know it? I have a funny feeling that I may die in the near future. I will not be afraid. I just need to prepare if this is true. You would be doing me a great favor and service, if you could tell me the truth.

I'm from Trinidad and Tobago. Last Saturday one of my freinds from the Kingdom Hall and I went shopping. We went into a jewelry store and I saw some of the most beautiful Anklets I have ever seen.
My freind told me that it's not Christian-like to wear an anklet because that's how they identified Prostitutes in Biblical times. Is this true? I've never read it anywhere in the Scriptures.
As a matter of fact I'm freinds with a sister from Italy and she wears an anklet to meetings.

My question is, is wearing an anklet against bible teachings because that's how they identified prostitutes in Biblical times or is it a matter of culter and how some people think in other contries.

i dont get why god charges you for his book...

shouldnt his book be free to anyone who wants to learn about him?

silly christians. (dont give me this, "it costs money to produce them" nonsense, because we all know book stores get them from a manufacturer, and then mark the price up to make a profit on them)

shouldnt it be a sin to make money off of gods word?

Now, i say this not because i agree with the actions, but because i see the benefits of legalization.

Abortion- before abortion was legal, back alley abortions were performed with coat hangers and broom sticks. They were unsanitary, and not only would the baby die, but the mother could too. By having abortion legal, it provides a safe environment for women to have the procedure done that is sanitary and regulated. Making it illegal does not eliminate its existance, only eliminates the ability for it to be regulated, thus safe.

Prostitution- By having legalized prostitution you would be able to test the women for diseases on a regular basis, and also ensure that their pimp or client is not beating them up because they would be in a safe environment. It would also add tax revenue to our government. Prostitution exists already, we wont get rid of it, by it being legal we can regulate it and make it reasonably safe for both prostitute and client.

Why didn't the Christians just send homeless people out to stand on bus stops with Chick tracts? Wouldn't that have been more effective than killing, raping, and pillaging non-believers?

do you watch any "educational" television? i'm actually not trying to insult you, but there are thousands of educational programs out there which basically go against your beliefs, such as evolution and the world being more than 6000 yrs old etc.

do you ever watch them? what do you think about them?
