I never saw or heard of a dog eating another dog.

People often say 'It's a dog-eat-dog world' when business is tough, but is it fair to drag those dogs in if it's actually us apes that are the mean ones?

...uses the same recycled logic that they have already twisted and misunderstood time after time?

Consider this poor analogy...
Person A: Look at this fossil!
Person B: It's a rock. I already told you I don't like rocks.
A: But this one is 20 million years old.
B: It's still a rock.
A: Okay how about THIS fossil?
B: That's a red rock.
A: How about THIS one?
B: That's a green rock. Stop showing me rocks.
A: I will find evidence you like. Hmmm..... this one??
B: Yellow rock.
Person C: Did you show him THIS DNA?
B: Yes, I have already seen CSI, it's just a TV show.

and on and on and ON!!!

Is it that hard to learn what evidence is and recognize it when you don't like it? Yes it is....

When they turn 16 they think you owe them a car

When they turn 18 and they don't have a job and drop out of school, all they want is to party with their friends 24-7 then they think we still owe them a place to live

Where do they get off - kids these days have no morals or respect

People that say they think that God is a stupid idea created by man...they believe everything has to have proof. Has to have a logical base. And then calls the people that DO believe small minded....

Narrow Minded:
1. having or showing a prejudiced mind, as persons or opinions; biased.
2. not receptive to new ideas; having a closed mind.
3. extremely conservative and morally self-righteous.

And "prejudiced mind" is:
1. an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.
2. any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable.
3. unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, esp. of a hostile nature, regarding a racial, religious, or national group.

So there you go Christians. Proving that Atheists are the ones that are narrow minded, not us.
I listen to what they have to say, I take evolution into account.
They refuse to listen, take anything we have to say into account...
Christians agree?

What was the significance of this statement to the 1st century Christian church in the context of the Graeco-Roman culture of which they were part? What exactly did this declaration mean to them?

Quotes from historians, theologians, please, to support your answer?

Thanks in advance for all sincere, polite replies.

May God bless you.

When I and other non-believers have questioned Christians about why it is that God endorses slavery in the Bible, the most common Christian response has been that slavery was such a way of life for the people of that time that God had to speak to them in a way that they could understand and/or relate to. In other words, as one Christian said, “God had to work with what he had. He wasn’t endorsing slavery.” My question is: Why then, as man morally/socially evolved to the point where slavery became a controversial and debated issue, to the point that a massive war was fought (Civil War) about it, did God not update the Bible or speak to man to straighten out the issue? Even though things ended up working out in the end and slavery is now illegal, thousands of men died horrible deaths fighting for/against the cause and generations of black people were whipped, raped, and mistreated before the issue was somewhat resolved. Somewhere around 1600, could God not have somehow made it clear that slavery was evil? To this day, each of us could pull out the Bible and use it to make a sound religious argument that slavery is okay. Luckily, we have rational minds that tell us otherwise.

A word document with the picture, link, and price of products + a list of promotional codes you can use to get discounts. Nothing over $50.
Is it too presumptuous?

The reason most reject Young Earth Creationists is probably due to the overwhelming evidence that the Earth is significantly older than 6,010 years. The Earth is said to be more around 4.5 million years old, and as methods to measure its age enhance, we're only becoming more and more convinced that the figures are correct, and that ~6,000 years sounds ridiculous. Creationists keep reciting the same arguments: there are no transitional fossils, evolution is a godless religion, the Second Law of thermodynamics precludes increasing complexity, and so on. We evolutionists come back with: here are intermediates in horse evolution, creation is intrinsically religious and not scientific, the Second Law applies only to closed systems. Why does the argument's conclusion remain stagnant? Does anyone honestly reject evolution entirely? Yes--I can understand skepticism. But to reject it entirely and take Creationism as an alternative is like believing in a flat Earth today. Your thoughts?

Farting is a part of us such as yawning or sneezing. It was scientifically proven that the average person tends to fart 15-20 times a day.....if everyone does it...then why try to hide it? Or be so embarrassed by it? Why can't people just say excuse me and go outside or go to the bathroom to fart? Or even just do it there as long as it is in a decently ventillated area? Why try to hide something that every body does and it is a naturally bodily function?

Christmas is a religious holiday. It is also about the gift of giving? Even if it is just giving someone a nice hug or something thoughtful. How did Christmas turn into a thing of money. People base it on how much someone spends on them. How much they get. How expensive the items are. Why can people not be happy with one simple item. I would rather someone give me one blanket that they made for me rather than a $7,500 name brand blanket! Why does Christmas have to do with money so much rather than the thought?

Is it logical to take an empirical stance and say "God does not exist!" It seems closed minded and hard headed to say nothing exists which has not been proven. Could there be a paralel universe? What about the overwelming emptyness between the energetic particles that make up what we call reality? What is the power that holds them together that confounds the physisists?

There's a lot of peeps here that are ~still~ using Witch and Wiccan intercangeably. I've seen, even asked, questions regarding the differences here. I understand how it could be confusing at first since Wiccans use magick in ritual (therefore are witches due to the magick use, not by simply being Wiccan!). What would it take for people to see and realize the differences between Wicca, a religion, and Witch, a way of life??

I left the lds church several months ago, and I left because it was harming me spiritually. I didn't leave for "the facts" that I've been seeing on alot of exmormon sites, nor was it because their culture seems severely dysfunctional. I simply left because innately, I felt it was supressing me spiritually.
My question is, are there other people out there who have left or changed religions for this reason?
