ex-mormon, well my patriarticle wasn't much of a blessing, to start with, I was depressed for years and left to get away from it because I felt it was causing the depressing, so I became wicca, still suicidal, so I became atheist, still suidial and still requiring theraphy. My family was very dysfunctional, didn't seem as if the preisthood holder in my family knew what an eternal prospective looked like, the longer I stayed, the worst, things seemed to get, I got saved and then I stopped wanting to end my life. As for the bible and all the mormon books, I really didn't get anything out of them, I started to get rhemas, from the christian bible and find things I never knew was there. Mormons don't allow women to function in the gifts, so low and behold I can pray for people as a christian and I had the gift of prophecy as well as intercession. I can choose were I want to work in the church and if I need some time off for my family, I can take a brake. I have seen people healed, I just don't remember seeing that many people healed by the priesthood when I was growing up.

Yes I became Buddhist...Then actually studied buddhism and found it was not a religion but a philosophy (or at least meant to be) then I studied christianity again...I now believe it is all made up and the proof that the LDS Church is a giant hoax makes it unfold everything from every religion. I like the 5 buddhist precepts, which are also 5 of the 10 commandments but the buddhists actually follow them and do not have contradictions and scriptures that justify things like killing or getting drunk.
I actually gave up all of my belongings and came from a wealthy family only to live on the streets in search for what Jesus ans Buddha found...I fasted for 30 days in the woods (national park ;o} and studied people and love and looked at it from an outsider's point of view...What I found, the truth about religion and God you can only discover yourself...Searching for something that has no evidence of it's existence is pointless, you have to wait for it to come to you.
Peace and happiness in your jopurney to enlightenment!!!

The LDS church asks a lot of it's members. I have known people that say they're happier when they leave, mainly because they try to distance themselves from the responsibility so that they don't feel guilty for doing or not doing certain things.
Is this what you've gone through? Just wondering.

the "facts" as you put it make it easy.
baptists leave for Pentecostal or non denominational. as time goes by, people get sick of routine. In a baptist church, you'll find an organ and a piano and a choir in the back...very routine as is the order of the 1 hour you will be there for a sermon.
LDS grabbed a bunch of interesting ideas from the occult. It should be enough to keep someone interested for a long time I would say. I'm surprised.

I went from Christianity to being Messianic. And many will tell you that they are one in the same but really, it's not. There were so many questions I had that when I was Christian no one was able to answer for me. It seemed as if it was a "don't question, just believe" type of thing, and that wasn't enough for me.
I feel much better here and have learned more here than I could have ever found in Christianity.

I left a baptist church and went to a pentecostal church,it is not a religion it is a denomanation and It is not that I dont like Baptist I still visit, its just I needed more spiritually,God knows your heart and it doesnt matter what denomanation you are,its your personal relationship with the Father that counts.I just seem to have learned more in a pentecostal church as far as the Holy spirit,But the baptist are getting better use to they didnt talk very much on the Holy Spirit.

I am LDS for 7 years. How do you feel it supressed you? I have some issues I'm trying to deal with at present. No sex and no masterbation for years. I don't think that could be right, but I don't know. I love the church and its teachings, I just don't get going around horney all the time.

I left non-LDS Christianity because it wasn't feeding me spiritually.
Sometimes, certain topics presented in church will depress me. But, if I didn't have my faith, I don't know where I would be.

Yes there are for they can only go so far in their respective faith, they lack the fulness of truth and must seek it elsewhere to fulfill the longing in their hearts.

That was the first factor that made me leave the mormon religion. You aren't alone.
