As for the bible it is a collection of writings found important by a particular group of people who lived throughout what might be a particular age in their development, having messages contained therein that were important only to them about specific behaviors to please an even more exclusive god. All generations of man have come up with these, some just last longer than others.
Atheism needs no promotion. The world itself is the stage that does this just fine.

The bible IS seriously flawed. It is not a tool to promote atheism, but it is a tool to debunk Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

I'm not an atheist, but with the cults of bible worship, who hold no god higher than the words of old men writing about YHVH, that have risen recently (last couple of hundred of years) to become the main sect of the Christian reality, using the bible against them would be an obvious conclusion.

No, but the Bible sure doesn't do Christianity any justice for those who actually read it. There were religions we know of before Judaism and the Old Testament, even Hinduism is older, I've studied them all. We know were religion came from and roughly why it formed. Christianity is just one of the many examples of how religion can become a plague on the world.

No, and no. Look, the problem is not the religion. We don't believe in the Christian god and thats quite enough. The problem is the Christian fundamentalists. If they'd lay off the rest of us, we could actually get to a real educated discussion. But no, they can't do that.

Not entirely, but the bible has greatly influenced my atheism with it's contradictions and crazed ramblings of hungry homeless men who probably penned biblical chapters to take their mind off of pizza.

It's what drove me away from Christianity... but I became an atheist by positive belief in Taoism.

I don't base my beliefs on the bible or any other religious book.
I base my beliefs about the Universe on science.

I'm not in any category but Christianity has to exist in order for atheism to deny it.
