I'm a learner of English Language.

I was watching the video podcast, CNN Student News,
I found a phrase I couldn't understand. Could you put this sentence into another setence or paraphrase it?

"The scores are in for the class of 2007"

What is the meaning of "the scores are in"?

The whole passage is like this:

AZUZ: Switching gears now, it's the three letters that can strike fear into the hearts of students: SAT. It's not the only college entrance exam, but it's still the biggest. The scores are in for the class of 2007, and the numbers are down, but not by much. Average scores on all three sections of the test dropped from the previous year....

After Jesus was resurrected from the dead, He walked around in a glorified body and showed his disciples the nail piercing scars in his hands and feet.

So how are we to be resurrected that brings our spirit back into our body if say we were burned into ashes and scattered into space???

It doesn't seem fair to me or make sense. How is it we will resemble our earthly bodies? What if our earthly bodies are ghastly and horribly deformed? What marks or scars will we humans carry with us thru all eternity?

Why did Jesus rise from the dead in His present body with scars and all and does that include sex organs, heart, hormones, secretions, etc... what parts function and what parts don't?

Any scripture insight or information will be most helpful...thanks.

I am just wondering why some people are so against Starbucks because I personally have never had anything against them. I have recently started working at Starbucks and my puzzled ness over why some people hate Starbucks so much has deepened. As a partner I know that they are truly committed to offering our customers the world’s best coffee and the giving finest coffee experience to their customers. They also treat me a million times better than all the other jobs I have had, and the benefits that I get are great! They truly do conduct business in ways that produces social, environmental and economic benefits for the communities in which they do business. They believe it’s possible to do well as a business and to do good positive things for the community around you at the same time. So please do enlighten me to the answer of my question :-)

Quran 5:51 : “O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors" http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/005.qmt.html

Knowing the Quran's literal postion on friendship, and the majority agreement with it, why would any self respect non-muslim ever consider a freindship with any Muslim?

Any engagement with members of the Islamic community is in part, legitimizing doctrines like that one cited above. If this sounds "bigoted" then using the same logic, you might as well call me a bigot for not wanting anything to do with nazis, skinheads or members-of-nambla.

If youve read the Quran, youve essentially read the religious version of Mein Kampf. What difference does it make that Islam is considered a "religion". Is there anything inherently good about being labeled a religion? If so, then lets speak more found of the Aztec religion that ripped beating hearts out of sacrifical rib cages.

Murder is morally wrong. But why? Is it wrong in realtion to God only .... (Realitive)
Or is it wrong because it just is. (Absolute)

If you say that sin is wrong because God says so. Well then (if) God said that murdering people for fun was ok, would it be morally right? You might say God would never do that because it is wrong. But ohh ohh now you are implying that Sin is absolute.

So which is it????????????????

Do we as Christians tolerate certain things that is now aceptable in the world becuase we do not want to be labled as "intolerant"?

Sin is Sin and the Wages of Sin is death (notwithstanding inflation)

Let us then boldly speak the truth in love.

Take care

The Christians has become so liberated that they don't call sin as sin by conviction, it is referred to as telerance.

We should stand up for what we are convicted of not what society wants us to do and that is to be tolerant towards people who are sinning.

God loves the person but hates the sin.

You can't say its not about me, since reality is subjective and in my reality, its about me. You also can't say, "oh you will soon" cuz I hate that fake optimisim. And you can't call me retarded or otherwise degraded me with words.

Under these terms, you may answer the question. NOW GO!

Does anyone recall what that time of their being was like... ? where they were... ? who else was around... ?

Although there's potential to grow, an infant's brain is not very highly developed at birth and I suspect that this fact may contribute to our general inability to recall specifics from our personal memory, but if we were indeed alive before birth, (in any sense at all,) wouldn't we have some idea of a pre-birth existence?

Ok, so a lot os religious folk (not all so don't tell me I'm generalizing!!) seem to be under the impression that all atheists are just angry at God, so everyone please explain why you're atheist, try to be mature about it so they can take it seriously, I want to show them that we disagree with organized religion for what we see as blinding them because I'm sick of the "Can you really be an atheist" question.

According to what I've been learning from all parts, this phrase may be wiser than it seems at first sight.
Nowadays, the time where secrets and lies are often unveiled and views are wider thanks to culture and globality, is it really true and correct to the best of our knowledge and belief that according to nature human kind is made to live in the same couple for life? Or is it just thousands of years of customs? hmmm.. even if I've always been correct until now, I'm beginning to think it's a one million dollar question.
What do you think?

I see this every time: Americans subjugated by their country's freedom policy - USA is the biggest lie related to Freedom, because nobody is free there - I mean don't get me wrong, I like America but only as a tourist - living there is like a prison ( but not a Prison Break) - Everybody used to European Standards of Life told me that Freedom in USA is a utopia ... for that reason I ask you - do you think that USA is a free country ... Have you any idea how much freedom is in Romania? and the rates of criminality is 90% lower compare to Rate of criminality in USA ... I mean last year report of people in America dead by gun shots is 11.500 people - that compare to Romania where only 17 people died in this way, if you don't know this we are over 22 millions here, not such a small country :) - anyway I hope I'll get a motivated answer ... Thank you all Americans or not.

My 80 year old mother has dementia and she has become very paranoid. I know that might sound funny because oftentimes paranoia is used in strange ways to define people, but I really mean it.
