Do we as Christians tolerate certain things that is now aceptable in the world becuase we do not want to be labled as "intolerant"?
Sin is Sin and the Wages of Sin is death (notwithstanding inflation)
Let us then boldly speak the truth in love.
Take care
The Christians has become so liberated that they don't call sin as sin by conviction, it is referred to as telerance.
We should stand up for what we are convicted of not what society wants us to do and that is to be tolerant towards people who are sinning.
God loves the person but hates the sin.

I agree the Lord says Love your neighbour as yourself, but why should the Church (the body of Christ) tolerate sin which there are clearly scripture that says that it is sin. Are we only tolerating things that world dish up because we want to be accepted. If a Minister of the Gospel does not preach that sin is sin and refuse to address certain issued, I ask myself is he affraid to loose some of his congrigation and their tithes?

You've got that one hit right on the head. There are those who don't want others to think they are intolerant so they compromise their views, to fit more into society. Yes Christians are intolerant to a degree. Intolerant of sin! but it is not we who are judging them, but pointing out and trying to convey the message God has given us. God labeled certain actions and ways of living as sin for a reason. But the world is caught up in doing what the world wants to do, not caring whether it's wrong...or WHY certain things are wrong.

Sister I firmly believe that the best way to speak the truth is through my own life and living. I also believe in praying for those that the Lord specifically put on my heart to speak something to regarding Him and not necessarily about their outward behavior as a sinner. The thing about a sinner is that he will sin. Outside of Christ as the Life-giving satisfying one these ones have no alternative. Its like asking a dog not to bark. Its out of the sinful nature that we sin.
But I also truly do not sit by and allow certain things to just trample over me as a believer. As Christians we are the SALT of the earth and if we loose our savor then what use are we to God. We are here representing this wonderful Christ who was a friend to sinners and tax collectors. Had the Lord been condemning to them, these ones would not want to be in His presence. Rather they sort Him out. Look at Zacheus, he was short and mean and a tax collector at that. A thief and traitor to his own. He sort the Lord out ..going out of his way to climb a tree since he was of small stature inorder to see and meet this Life Giving Christ.
That day the Lord entered into this man's house and changed his whole being and those of his household. Praise the Lord for such a loving heart for sinners.
When we need to speak a firm word to those in our lives we do it under the conviction of the Holy Spirit.. but most of the time sister.. we need to approach these ones first through prayer before the throne of Grace.. Then when we feel that the Lord has had a way to work to soften this one we approach this one or ones to share something of Christ.
We are living in the last days. It will be worse than the days of Noah and worse than Sodom and Gomorrah. The day is speedily approaching when our Lord will make His appearance. May our hearts be in the right place in reaching these ones that JESUS died for. He wants us to be the channels for these ones to be given the gospel. May we allow the Lord in us to share...I'm sure He would approach many of these gospel friends in a different manner that we might naturally choose.
Praise the Lord that today we have the anointing Spirit within us.. teaching us how to live by Christ and live in the SPirit.. doing ..speaking.. and looking to the Lord in everything.
Keep abiding sister
your sis

i think it goes with the saying" before you criticize others, first look at yourself in the mirror". We can advise or remind someone who committed a sin that what he/she is doing or have done is a sin, but the conviction is mainly for God to render, for He is the only one that knows what was inside the heart of the person that committed the act." YOU WILL BE JUDGED ACCORDING TO YOUR INTENTIONS"

With conviction, there is no compromise.
Those outside the church we cannot expect to not sin. It's human nature, and without Christ, they can do nothing but.

If a Christian actually obeyed Christ---they wouldn't see sin in others---only themselves---& that bumper sticker saying "God loves the sinner but hates the sin--is stupid---they are not separate--you can't have "sin" without the "sinner".
So don't worry about "judging others"---until your completely free of sin yourself.

Yes I think you're right, in a sense. Christianity in principle is completely amoral. It's all about following orders regardless of what your conscience tells you, and about doing whatever is necessary to avoid hell and get to heaven. The Christians who allow themselves to have morals, by judging right and wrong according to their conscience (which is the true definition of morality), are not really being 'true Christians'.
You really need to become an atheist to be a truly moral person.

You haven't said what 'certain things' you mean but I think those Christians who are tolerant about things that the bible condemns have simply learned to think for themselves and have acquired some human empathy.

Same answer as last time. Your convictions are based on religious beliefs you hold on faith. As such you have the right to live your own life with conviction according to your beliefs but not to impose them on others who don't share your particular beliefs or faith.

I make compromises with some things but never with the things of God. There is no gray area. It is all black or white.
