I am not Christian but I was interested in the fundamental differences between the different versions, are they mainly interpreted differently, or are they completely different?

And help others to live their lives to the fullest? This isn't going to last forever, so why not work together to make the short time that everyone has to be excellent? Sure, you won't exist later, but everything right now is real and you are really experiencing this, isn't it a waste to just be miserable all the time?

I read an answer to a question about the existence of God which said something like "I'm entitled to my belief without you questioning it, and you're entitled to your belief without me questioning it." It's that "without questioning" part that I'm asking about. If we have freedom of speech, then asking questions or even openly disagreeing about religion is necessarily part of that, isn't it? Are we too careful not to step on toes in this area? Not careful enough? Or to maintain the metaphor, are we guaranteed steel-toed boots for our religious ideas?

Reason, logic, and common sence mean nothing to GOD! He's the one you'll have to answer too. Not the dear hearted and faithful on Yahoo Answers. Geez!

God gives hope. Even if he's just a placebo pill for the soul, do you still think that it is necessary to attack one's beliefs with science?

(P.S. No, I am not an advocate of either science or religion because I find them to be very similar)

How can I be expected to believe something without question? How can I just put down my disbelief and say, yes, Jesus was the son of God, and let go of all the doubt? would you believe me if I said I was bill gates, and that if you don't do what I say I'll have your computers blown up? hell no! it's human nature to question things, a no doubt very effective survival trait,--- do you not realize the impossibility of asking us to just abandon this trait when it comes to something as supremely important as God, and the afterlife, and, well, everything? it seems to me this is the ONE THING you really should question, because everything's at stake. I don't want to go to hell, but neither do I want to believe something false just because someone's told me. with all due respect believing Jesus was God because many here do is as naïve as being bullied into smoking. I want the truth! blind faith is impossible for something so important! do you understand?

When praying for something are we supposed to pray for God's will to be done or are we supposed to pray for what we want and have faith?

In the bible it says if you ask for anything in Jesus' name, it will be given to you. However, I find that most people pray for Gods will to be done.

Now I've been watching and spent too much time learning things in regards to Christianity. I have to admit that i am just abit confused. For a few times now i've been watching a certain Chritian broadcasting that i won't mention its name but the supposed host claims to be an apostle who happens to pray for callers and sends then a handerchief as a point of contact for blessing. He claims to be appointed by God an is there to annoint the callers and thus bless them in every aspect of life including healing and in the area of finance.

Now according to my understanding, i only know of the early apostles and i didn't know they still exist. The other thing is that i've also been learning about tithing and according to my understanding is that this is the ten percent of everything you own that God has given you, you return to Him.

In this broacasting, the host claims that with a joint praying in agreement with the caller, and in Jesus name, he can bless you through tithing to be

*sigh*
I don't really know. I guess people are just too narrow minded. I mean, I don't really see why Evolution contradicts the existence of God. Oh sure, the Bible speaks of Adam and Eve, but should we really take that story literally? How do we not know it wasn't just a fictional story with a little moral at the end?

Evolution is not intended to contradict God. Rather, Darwin states that his theory is to claim that God did indeed create man but he was so intelligent and all-knowing that with evolution, he was able to have life create itself.

Also, the Bible states that man was made from mud and dirt. It has been theorized that nonliving materials such as water and dirt, merged together to make the first unicellular organisms that would eventually evolve into the human race.

If people actually took the time to read the entire theory, then they wouldn't be so quick to label it as some trash that should be rejected. IT fills in many gaps, if you ask me.

Do you agree?

Are you allowed to repent for something you are about to do before you do it?

Say, for instance, you are a soldier fighting in a war and you are about to blow some kid with a hand grenade off the face of the earth. Are you allowed to say "Please Jesus, forgive me for blowing this kid up?" before you even do it?

Since when mothers are virgins? To become a mother every woman had to engage in sexual intercourse in those times; IV fertilization wasn't available. And please don't come with that absurd idea that she was "touched" by the Holy Spirit because she wasn't, and that's final.
