I'm from a northwestern state and really enjoy Nascar... mainly because these guys really put their lives on the line for their sport, unlike NFL or NBA where they constantly halt the game and cry foul over every little booboo.
As for understanding Creation... sometimes scientists understand it better than the religious do. The Catholics used to believe the earth was created first, thus was the center of the universe. Galileo made a telescope and discovered that the earth and planets revolved around the sun, rather than the sun and planets revolving around the earth. The Pope had him placed under house arrest for this heresy. Galileo's sin was interpreting the Bible MORE ACCURATELY than even the Pope himself. How DARE a scientist interpret scripture!
Seems today certain New Earth interpretations of Genesis by some Evangelicals are every bit as fallacious and short sighted as the Pope's thinking the earth was the center of the universe. Thier misinterpretations of Genesis creat false contradictions between proven science and the scriptures... and this can derail the faith of many. That is the religious folks fault, not the scientists. While I believe in Creationism, it is certainly not simple.

I live in a Southern state, didn't vote "red", don't like NASCAR, and am not a Creationist.
