who says this, a sad minority group of lost souls who have only their faith in nonsense to hang on to?

Blind faith? As Christians we would like to believe that there is nothing blind about it! God does reveal himself to us and we strive to worship and praise him in all we do! God used to be more hands on and physically verbal at times. He put his voice in a burning bush, a cloud, and other physical things. This was required for the people af the time in order to overcome the overwhelming influence against God in that time! He spoke to strengthen their faith not to prove himself because faith was lacking. God tells us in Revelation that he will create a new Earth for the few who believed. He made this earth and allows man free-will and other methods so that they can make their own choice for eternity! He only wants the faithful and loyal in his second and perfect world! It would be impossible to give man that choice if he stood in front of us and said here I am everyone! Touch me, feel me, hear me and see me physically so you believe...there then would be no need for faith! I also believe that the Bible is so packed full of Gods wisdom that a lifetime isn't long enough to understand all that is written. I'd like to think it is but if that were the case, we would have all the answers to every question! So... I believe he does, but only at first. Blind faith is faith without evidence. We are blind until we choose to humble ourselves die to ourselves and give all to God for his work and glory! Once our eyes are opened we are no longer blind at all and the evidence is clear. If we were all seeing the evidence with no understanding or knowledge the entire purpose of this world would be lost and therefor his new world described in Revelation could not happen to his will! Since God can't lie because it goes against the spirit and his very nature then without doubt being present, faith would not be required! Even blind faith

I understand you completely and I'm a Christian. I've been there before and have studied a few religions. At one point, I didn't even believe there was a God. I can only speak for myself when I say everyone in life has a purpose. Some have the purpose on their life to be spiritual leaders and do their job and do it CORRECTLY by leading by an example. I've been blessed to find a church where I know the spirit of God has led me. I can't expect someone to understand what I'm feeling unless they've experienced it for themselves. I do believe that research should be done but if this world isn't perfect, how do you expect to find a perfect answer for everything....including questions about God. I think that if a person seeks they will find but it should be a balance of both research and hearing the Word of God.

I don't expect you to have blind faith.
As you should be sure not try to make other people question their faith. "this is the ONE THING you really should question"
Hebrews 10:16 - This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Blind faith? How do you know science works? Can you tell me about quantum leap physics and the highest number ever counted? What about the limits of the universe? And what of Einsteins theory of relativity? No human has traveled at the speed of light so how do we know he's right? I mean he did the math to "prove" his theory but have you personally checked his answer or.... do you just believe what so many scientists have said?
It's kinda like that. Call Einstein's equations the bible for that theory if you like and compare it to the Holy Bible with God. Remember that as there are so many scientific theories (which are all said to be correct) can we not say the same is possible for religions?
Blind faith is not as blind as it seems. If you can believe in Einstein's theory without actually travelling or seeing anyone travel at the speed of light, can you also not believe in your faith even though you've never had a spiritual revelation?
I'd never ask anyone to have literal blind faith in anything. But anything that cannot be disproved MAY deserve the benefit of the doubt. Question your beliefs if you like, but to be fair to YOURSELF, you might also question your own doubts.
I hope you find what you're looking for and that when you do, it brings you peace.

I don't expect you to. I was an atheist myself, but then I had a few supernatural experiences that changed my view about things. I would expect people to not believe unless maybe you have went through some of the same things I have had. Just do not try to tell me there is no God when I know there is because it makes you guys sound unreasonable because the truth is we are all the same, meaning I can question my beliefs also and differentiate fact from fiction just like you. Just keep your minds open and your hearts pure, and if you ever need help you know where you can go.

Very good question! Have a star! I love people who question things so much.. I am one of them. I am a believer, just because I feel there is someone in a higher power. I do not necessarily believe everything in the Old Testament (I am Jewish). I am not big on religion, I am big on being spiritual. I am not spiritual because people tell me to be, it is just something I have always been, especially since 9/11. No matter how much I hear people quoting Bible things or saying it is correct, it does not make me a believer all of a sudden. It could be right, it could be wrong. However, I still believe in a higher power, regardless of what anyone says, because that belief is innate.

The entire point of having religious faith is to make a decision to turn off the critical parts of your thought process. This is looked upon as a positive thing, and a good character trait. You're not supposed to ask tough questions and expect logical, rational answers, you're supposed to shut your mouth and 'just believe'. Instead of thinking for yourself you're supposed to get your answers from an old book, which MUST be true because you believe in it! You're supposed to listen to the voices you hear in your head and your subjective emotional responses to situations.

You won't go to hell whatever you choose to believe or not believe; God is a benevolent Being who loves us and wants us with Him which is why He sent His Son to die for our sins on the cross. We don't ask you to believe; no one can convince or even ask someone else to believe; that is a purely personal choice and you should absolutely ask questions to relieve your doubts but at some point it will boil down to faith, and faith is blind because it is the substance of belief in things unseen.
Color exists although a blind man can't see them...so it is with God; even though we can't see Him we know He exists through our faith which is, as you say, blind and unquestioning.
And the last thing anyone who truly believes in God would want is to bully anyone into believing against their will.
Thomas doubted and was convinced...so can you be if you choose to accept Him. Not hard to do, BTW, once you rid yourself of mistrust, which I can't blame you for with all the hellfire and brimstone screaming people out there who prefer to satisfy their own egos rather than live by example and thus draw people to God rather than drive them away with threats of hell and eternal damnation.
Focus on God, not some of the would-be messengers.

The same way you belive that your great grandfather was a great man. You weren't there, he could have been abusive or something worse. Maybe he wasn't even your grandfather's biological father to begin with. There are so many family secrets that it's virtually impossible to believe your family history, yet you do. It's a choice that you are given. And you have your whole family to go against to prove it's not true. The same way you have a whole religious group to go aginst to prove that Jesus is not the son of God.

Ask God, He will answer you if you are sincere. All you need is the faith the size of a mustard seed and come to Him on His terms, which is through His Son, Jesus the Christ. He will prove Himself to you, if you give Him the authority to come into your life by inviting Him and seek Him with your whole heart.
