Since when mothers are virgins? To become a mother every woman had to engage in sexual intercourse in those times; IV fertilization wasn't available. And please don't come with that absurd idea that she was "touched" by the Holy Spirit because she wasn't, and that's final.

My theory is that she wasn't a virgin *GASP! It's humanly impossible to conceive a child without having sexual intercourse. No miracles happened.

I also liked the movie "The Net" with Sandra Bullock! and as to your question or was it a question? you should be happy to hear that you are at least three quarters right on! as she was a virgin! as we girls all were once upon a time! LOL and unless you don't beleive in God the Creator at all! you could beleive that if He was capable enough to create the whole universe! surely He can also plant a seed of DNA (life) into any girl of His choice on the planet at the moment that He would see fit to send His son on the planet! as the end result of his short life here was the ransom that divine justice required in order to make it possible for us all to have once more the chance or opportunity to access the real life which was meant for us from the beginning of times! Now if you're still with me, we'll go on and if not go back and read it all real slow again!
The reason you happen to be more right than not is that after having had her first son Jesus... while Joseph her husband had been told the truth of her and of God's son by the angel Gabriel, had to abstain from touching his wife for that duration, it was no longer necessary to do so after the birth of Jesus and then naturally, they had sexual intercourse and several other children! which is why for instance when Jesus was 12, they didn't realize right off the bat that he was missing on the way home from a big assembly as they alreadly had other younger children to care for... and should you wish to fill in the blanks well! do like I did and read a bible! Ciao!

In olden times the word "virgin" was used to refer to a woman as being a "young woman", or "young girl". It had nothing to do with her sexual experiences. Unfortunately most translators today don't tell you this or make an appropriate change to convey the same meanings. (another example of this....not so long ago authors would write of couples "making love in the streets"...not meaning what we do today, they meant they were kissing or cuddling). Times and word meanings change, and so too must our interpretations.
The interesing point here is that if you do consider that Mary was indeed impregnated by "god" you might consider such anomalies as parthogenesis (however Jesus would most likely have been another female if this were true).
In many middle eastern cultures young girls were often experienced sexually (probably not consentually) by their fathers (see other stories in old testament) or the masters of the houses they were slaves at. However, such details are often glossed over as they are read by religious people today.
Mary was probably sexually experienced, Joseph was probably the father, but more likely...there was never some person who was "Jesus" as described. You must look into the other 16 Jesus-type figures of history, and also research the origins of the bible if you are really going to believe in this stuff, let alone trust your soul and your relationship to "god" to the rantings of a religious order. Please think for yourself, do some research into the bible and open your mind to the truth.

If you ever met her, I'm sure you would know that she is pure. Everyone who has met her has found this to be true. Kind of twists your mind, doesn't it? SO many people down through the ages have wondered about it. This is no original question. As far as I know, she is the only one, although Hera claimed to renew her virginity (that may have been a Greek add-on to try and explain a woman goddess never being...hm...how shall I put this?...violated by the male gods, because the primitive mind just couldn't figure out how any woman could remain a virgin her entire life unless she was really really ugly.)

It might seem absurd to an unbeliever that a vorgin could conceive without sexual contact... but for myself having experienced many miracles it is not a stretch of imagination whatsoever. I completely believe it.

Unbelievers even remained unbelievers when they had miracles performed before their very eyes. A crippled man from birth was raised up by the Apostles yet the Pharisees STILL refused to believe it. Without faith it is impossible to please God and you will never understand the possibilities of miracles until you FIRST come in faith. Faith is not something you do based on knowledge or evidence, it is a CHOICE.

Well, if I remember correctly there has actually been some scientific research in recent years regarding women being able to conceive without men or IV fertilization with some compelling results. Wasn't there an article about that a couple months ago. Remember just because we don't understand something yet, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Besides, God is a scientist with the ultimate chemistry set. I mean if he created planets and suns what else could he do?

You dont think God knew about other fertilization methods? People always talk about that time like oh they didnt have that technology, but hello, we arent talking about the people of that time. We are talking about God.

I think methods like artificial ensemination kind of proves that things once thought as crazy and impossible by nonbelievers can actually be proven to happen and exist. People use to, and still do, say that its impossible to get pregnant without sex so the Bible is just nonsense. Well, hello, we know its not impossible. Goes to show you we dont know all the science....yet, but that impossible stories can have logical explanations and it doesnt disprove God but prove that the stories actual might have some credibility.

and Mary did eventually marry Joseph, so I dont know why people still call her a virgin.

If you knew the power of the lord you would shut your mouth.

She was touched by the spirit of God. Joseph was from the linage of David. So he was called the Son of man.

God proved what is impossible for man is possible with God.

Mothers were virgins before they knew a man. It was after they were touched for the very first time they became mothers. And that to is a miracle from God!

God said we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Amazing , God is able to do all things. What is more of a miracle is that Adam (A.s.) had neither a mother or a father!God can do anything .He will preform an even greater miracle on the day of judgment when he recreates all of the dead.At that time the disbelieves in him will wish to be dust.
