Now I've been watching and spent too much time learning things in regards to Christianity. I have to admit that i am just abit confused. For a few times now i've been watching a certain Chritian broadcasting that i won't mention its name but the supposed host claims to be an apostle who happens to pray for callers and sends then a handerchief as a point of contact for blessing. He claims to be appointed by God an is there to annoint the callers and thus bless them in every aspect of life including healing and in the area of finance.

Now according to my understanding, i only know of the early apostles and i didn't know they still exist. The other thing is that i've also been learning about tithing and according to my understanding is that this is the ten percent of everything you own that God has given you, you return to Him.

In this broacasting, the host claims that with a joint praying in agreement with the caller, and in Jesus name, he can bless you through tithing to be

blessed financially. In another words; if you invest $300 in his ministry, in faith, your tithing will bless you financially with $ 3000 in return. According to my understanding, i thought you give ten percent back out of the 100 that you already recieved and not backards. I tried to figure out if this is a fraud or another scheme that thw host is trying to pulloff by posing as a minister but according to some of the verses I've been reading such as ((amplified)you'll know them by their fruits) this host doesn't appear to be a scammer and does use Christ's name in prayers and services plus he also refers to the Bible and uses passes from there. So i am confused if this infact is lagit basically b/c he does seems to contradict afew things that i learnt to be quite the reverse of what he teaches. I am to enrich my understanding so please pass along your information and any other Biblical verses for me to refer to. Thanks in advance for your help and God bless

I am not planning on using him for a financial gain let alone contacting him. I was just more curious of his actions and the fact that we never see any charitable things he does to others like poor people from poverty stricken nations or proclaiming to good news to others. I do believe in prophets to exist because i read about it in the book of Revelation that God will raise his prophets in the end time but never heard of apostles in the end of the age so just curious. I like all the answers so far and quite agree with saintrose

The apostles have all died. There still can be prophets and prophetesses...but there is a biblical test to prove the prophet/ess a true prophet/ess of God. Anyone who claims to be an apostle is a liar. No liar can truly serve God since God has nothing to do with them. Tithing is your 10% going to support God's true ministry...and God returns your blessings a hundred fold...not always monetarily. I have not read any of the other answers when I answered this so I hope I am not sounding repetitive.

Please becareful about tv preachers, there are a very few real men of God on tv. If you have an active Prayer life the Holy Spirit will guide you on how to give your money. Do not send it to one of those tv preachers unless the Holy Spirit convicts your heart. I personally donot even watch many of them anymore. It is just a business to them. 1 Tim 6:10, For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Whether most of the tv preachers is saved or not is up for debate, let God be the Judge. You can use a search engine and type in a preachers name from the tv and you can read all about them. There income is alot more than yours and the amount they keep is lot more than yours. The safest giving you can do is to your local church. Charitynavigator.org rates most tv preachers, thats a good place to go for some research, also insight.org is another. May God Bless YOU as you give in his name.

Since the Bible teaches God does not change, not even a shadow of variableness, then it stands to reason that true Apostles can exist today. The Bible also states that there will be MANY false apostles and prophets in the latter day so you have to be aware... by their fruits ye shall know them. Many will claim to be true apostles but are hucksters.

I would steer way clear of any who promises miracles for money, he is nothing but a hackster and scam artist. Nowhere in the Bible does it ever teach paying money for miracles. There is this example though where a man tried to bribe an Apostle for the gift of the Holy Ghost...

Acts 8: 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

While I believe in charitable giving (not the Old Testament version of 10% tithes) to support a righteous church, the poor, or travelling missionaries... this gift certainly is not required in order to receive a healing or miracle from God.

This man may or may not be a true man of God. There is a Prophet and apostles on the earth today, and tithing is a true principle when done with faith God will pour down blessing upon your head. However I don't think any one can claim a exact dollar amount that you will receive in return. That is up to God himself and were you to pay this tithing thinking you were going to get a ten fold return on your money God would not bless you for that. However if you were to pay a 10% tithing to help build up the kingdom of heaven on earth for the salvation of souls God will give you blessings that will astound you however they may come in blessings like health, love, and spiritual comfort, and may not all or any, be in money

He is full of balony and out to seduce an unwary soul into believing in his "aposleship" and to line his pockets. There's a new one born every day. You are right, the Apostles died in the first century and so this fake has no claim to that title. As far as tithing, this was given under the old law covenant as a necessity for the Jewish nation and their priesthood.
If one is active within a church in this day they are usually asked to help out with the maintanance of the building, etc, but should not feel obligated to pay a wage to their leaders. Even the Apostle Paul worked with his hands and didn't expect a free handout. But giving charity or assistance to other people who are in dire need is fine if one is able. You can do that right within your own community. That could include food, clothing or moral support by helping them to receive government help if they qualify.

God goes by what's in your heart. You give in faith and because you want to. Giving 10% to God is nothing compared of what He has given us! And the cost was nothing! It's nothing wrong with watching Christian televised stations but just make sure that they follow with is in the Word, the Bible. To do that, you have to be in the Word! That is the only way not to fall into satan's trap and into another trap....hell. There are many churches, preachers, prophets but few are called. Your blessings comes from God and God alone not a hankerchief!

There are indeed a lot of them in the media, I.L.D. But do not be deceived by these people. They served not Jesus Christ but only their own belly. When you enroll to a school, you make sure that the name of the school is recognized by the Department of Education, otherwise, your diploma will be void & you will not be accepted in any employment field. If the school is registered, every official of that school is definitely recorded. What I am trying to say here is - the Bible has already defined God's apostles including Jesus himself. If someone comes your way claiming to be one, ask for his recognition. His name must be in the Bible, otherwise, he is called "follower" just like any christian around. (Got me?)

With regards to "tithings", as far as the teaching of the Bible is concerned, this were only required for the Levites who is one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Why only them? They were ordained by God to be priests to the 11 tribes and did not inherit any land. Therefore God ordered the 11 tribes to give tithings to the Levites for their financial needs. Afterall, they inherited nothing from God except their priesthood.

In the times of the apostles, they claim no tithings for they spend their own money themselves to support the spreading of the gospel. However, they did not stop the believers from giving. But they call it no "tithes". I sort of forget the particular verse, but if you check it in one of Paul's letter, you'll find out.

Hope I can join you in your "walking with the faith".

Tithing is suppose to be 10% you are correct and prophets can exsist and I believe do still exsist today but they should be measured by what is written and my gut feeling on this is that this guy is a quack and you need to change the channel. He must have not read his bible to well and I suggest all televangelist re-read REVELATIONS because it clearly says what God will do to those claiming to be preachers of the word and misleading those who are hearing the word...boy I do not want to be around when he goes to judgement!
Please find a bible based NON DENOMINATIONAL church that is not wrapped up in making money on TV!

Sounds like he wants some money!! Be careful of that one!! - the early apostles were the ones given the gifts by the holy spirit to heal and preach. We can be "disciples" or follow Christ but I don't believe people these days need to have "gifts" to show about God. We have the Bible and can read to teach others about God. We don't need miraculous signs or healings to prove anything! Tithing is supposed to be a portion of your income you set aside each week to give to your church for them to use to support the minister or to give to the poor. In the bible it does mention giving an amount of your income - look at the story of the poor widow who gave all she had. It is not how much you give, but the heart you give it with.

Hi!

There are differences of opinion amongst Christians regarding tithing, giving, healing, modern apostles, etc.

I would encourage you to read the bible. read read read. Don't go by just what someone else tells you.

I would also encourage you to "follow the Spirit" -sometimes the holy spirit guides us - or wants to guide us - just by what we usually call "common sense" or a "gut feeling." If you feel funny about something - like sending a TV evangelist money, etc. - it is best not to do it.

Please believe me - I believe God calls people today and I believe in the gifts of healing, etc. - but we need to be careful as to how we use our money and who we give money to, etc.

Certainly if someone is claiming healing for our lives IF we send him money, then I would beware.

We need the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.....

Remember, when we commit our lives to Him, God owns EVERYTHING we have. 10%? No. 100% belongs to God and should be used as He desires.

god bless
