when the 6 swordsmen were sent out, and the one with the ink was marking the men to be spared... who did God tell them to spare? Where did they start the marking and killing? With this in mind... what will it take to see revival in America?

I'm interested if this is simply a 'faith specific' religious punishment in Islam, or if Christians & Jews (in the past) also executed people for the religious 'crime' of being homo-sexual.

I don't know if the bible or Torah mentions this.

Thanks

in the church i go to, people testify about praying to God and miracles happening its soo scary. once this guy said he was driving and gangsters were shooting at his car and a huge smoke surrounded it and he was saved. if God is real, how come when i try to seek his help, he ignores my prayers?

Okay, as of this writing I have seen no evidence of God, and neither has anyone else. He hasn't "appeared" for thousands of years, and I have some questions to ask him. In his absense, I have decided to ask the next best thing: Yahoo Answers.

SO.

Do animals go to heaven? They don't worship. Come to think of it, neither do houses or cars. Is Heaven just crowded with people sitting on their rear, doing nothing?

And speaking of the people, whats the deal? Is heaven full of old farts who died on their beds at 90? Are the ones who died in horrific accidents bloodstained and broken?

By the logic of religion, hell should be full of the non-believers. However, the humans completely overrun by EVERY ANIMAL THATS EVER LIVED. Whats the deal?

And lastly, why does the Church keep changing it's viewpoint? When Galileo was alive, he discovered that the universe wasn't centered on earth. The church had him killed for his findings. Why don't they anymore? Thanks!

"For ASL is there a certificate course or a test you need to pass to be classified as fluent in ASL? I live in PA/USA and want to be able to translate for the state gov. but not sure if there is some requirement that needs to be met? Or is each employer different and they test you?" Is there any credited courses connected with ASL I am only finding non-credited courses at my local colleges? If not then what would be a good major to have with asl being a bonus. Thank you.

Please _don't_ cite anti-homosexual scripture. That's not my question.

All right. The Bible is against homosexuality. Let's take that as a given for the moment. Now, anti-homosexual Christians regularly describe homosexuality as a 'choice'. Christians speak a lot about the importance of 'free will' - of _voluntarily_ heeding God's word.

So to that end, why _would_ a secular government's laws reflect scripture? Would it not be more 'Christian' for a government to allow Christian people the legal right to gay marriage, just so that 'good Christians' could reject that?

What does it please God to know that people refrain from 'sinful' behaviour _because they are forbidden to do it_? Should it not be that Christians were legally _allowed_ to but resisted the temptation?

Isn't that the Christian message?

Since the word "most" was used, what evidence for macroevolution is there that cannot be used as evidence for microevolution?

This is not a question dealing with semantics, faith, or veracity of ancient religious manuscripts, or name calling, so please do not answer in that fashion.

I know there is some debate as to the definitions of these words, but I would like to avoid any large scale discussions on semantics.

Definitions:

Microevolution is evolution on a small scale—within a single population.

Macroevolution generally refers to evolution above the species level. (*Note* many definitions include the "species" level in their description)

Sources:

http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/evo101/IVADefinition.shtml

This is not meant as a loaded question, I am simply looking for the evidence that does not come under the "most" category so that I can examine it.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

This question has been asked before I know, however I would like to go a bit beyond that. We are talking spiritual power here. Do you think that there is spiritual power in words?
Please explain your answer based on either your beliefs or lack thereof.

My husband and I visited Nauvoo earlier this year on our way back from a vacation. We had heard that the area was beautiful which it was. While there, we toured the sites and visited the temple visitors center. A missionary gave us a tour and a book of mormon. I was really interested but my husband was being polite. He thinks that mormonism is a cult. I put the book away when we got home, but have since picked it up and read it. I am really interested in speaking with someone locally about the religion. I don't have any mormon friends to discuss it with. I have read that missionaries want to meet with the whole family, and I am not sure that I would be able to convince my husband to do that. I would like to learn more on my own and then go to my husband with it. Is there anyone out there that would like to talk to me about the religion? I would so very much appreciate it.

For nearly two thousand years, the Pentacle or Pentagram "Five Pointed Star" has been a Christian Symbol.

Specifically it is called "The Star of Bethlehem"

(The Star of David Has 6 Points Not Five so DO NOT CONFUSE THIS)

The Star of Bethlehem, as a Pentacle (Upward Star) has reference to The Five Wounds of Christ. 1 in each hand, 1 in each foot, and 1 in the side.

In other sects of Christianity, the Pentagram (Downward Star) has reference to "The Five Points of Fellowship"

All of a sudden and only within the last 100 to 120 years The Star or Bethlehem which has been a Christian symbol for thousands of year has been transformed into a "Satanic Occult Symbol" and this all done by the modern "Chrisitan" Movement.

I would like an explaination not a rant.

My son is seven years old and has had a interest in Jesus Christ and religion and has started asking some very interesting questions, some i could answer and some i couldn't, So i enrolled him in sunday school (which is something HE wanted to do.) Being Catholic myself (but not very religious) encouraged him to go. I myself never recieved Confirmation and always wanted to, so to set a good example for my son (and myself) i enrolled in the RCIA. My son came up to me and asked me a very intellectual question on Adam and Eve, here it is: "IF ADAM AND EVE WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE ON EARTH WHERE DID CAVE-MAN COME FROM??" I was stumped!! Any help?? Thanks!!
