jennyanne ,you are in fine form today! Your questions really make a person think. My mom used to say be home by eleven because I have to get up early for work. She died too soon at 58 from a brain hemorrhage . We never know when our time is up .

Nothing specific that I can remember, but with 7 children running in and out all the time, she probably could not keep track of who was coming and going. She was probably just happy to have a little peace and quite if we were all outside.

She'd say "keep your nose clean", which was her way of saying stay out of trouble. I love the underwear thing because I used to tell my daughter not to wear red underwear (because it was promiscuous) in case she got in an accident!

I love that one! We all got it when we were younger...was that the main thing they worried about?
My mom would always ask, what time do you plan on being home...I suspect things have not changed greatly...Oh, and she always wanted to know where we were going. Makes sense, when you think about it.
Today, she might add, did you remember to take con....never mind.

My mom always told me to have fun/becareful.
The last thing I tell my husband, mom, children etc... when we are parting or hanging up the phone, is "I love you." That way if something happens to either them or me the last words we spoke will be loving.
