I read the Bible over and over again but do not sem to believe it is from God. I just feel that God would be more sophisticated in style and message. I want to be saved though, so how can i convince myself it is the word of God and have Jesus in my heart? how can i suddenly switch from non believe to believe? how do people believe???
I tried hypnosis but didnt work.

Ok if you are serious I will tell you. Like a child. Just believe. It is ok to doubt and question, just believe. It is Ok to be afraid, just believe. How do you know there is such a thing as love, just believe.

The bible says, his word does not go out void. In some way shape or form, its doing something in you life. And the spiritual battle is going on for your soul. Read Romans. Thats the book that tells you how to be saved.
We've all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
You must repent of your sin.
You must believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again on the 3rd day.
Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed. Then let the Holy Spirit do the rest. If you are trully coming to him, He wont turn you away.
Also, here's the thing you need to focus your attention on Jesus died and rose again to save you from hell. He came to give you life and life more abundantly. If you can't understand this, there is no way you could understand the rest of the bible.
There's a scripture in the gospel that explains this but it doesn't come to mind right now.

The entire bible in not the Word of God, only the Words Jesus spoke as a testimony are the true Word's of God the Father.
The Words spoken by Moses, and the Prophets, Peter and Paul are not the Words of God the Father, they are the Word's of men. The churches of the world where made in the traditions of men.
Read the 4 Gospels, as Jesus said, I have foretold you all things.

Dont bother, think for yourself, which you seem to have started doing. Do you think that God would really command all his people to read the bible to be saved? What about those who were born into a non-Christian family? Are they just doomed to an afterlife in hell? I wouldnt think so. Believe what you want, but why would God condemn certain people to hell even if they were good people throughout their life just for not reading the bible?

This dilemma used to bother me, too. How could I make myself believe? But, what is needed is not intellectual, cognitive belief. What is important is trusting and having faith. Seek God and you'll find him. God isn't concerned that you believe intellectually in facts that can't be proven, he wants you to understand that he love you, he wants you to follow and seek him. You will always have doubts. Faith is a journey, a lifetime of growing, not a once and for all intellectual ascent to a set of facts. If you want "Jesus in your heart ask him to come in-it's as simple as that! You don't get "perfect" and understand and believe everything first! God knows your heart, that's what's important.

You can't "make" yourself believe. The Bible is about our redemption through Jesus Christ. Believe in Jesus. When you do that then you'll have better understanding of the Bible.

Be patient. Keep pouring in truth from the bible into thought and this displaces false beliefs and lack of faith. A sudden switch is not common in the human experience. So, you must use everyday to your advantage.

the bible says faith (believing) comes by hearing the word.
you can read all you want but you have to hear it preached by someone who is anointed by God. there is astory in Acts where a eunich was reading but God sent a disiple named Philip to preach it to him and he believed
