I believe in tithing and really want to do it. But I have ran into a little bit of a hole money wise on a mistake in my budget. In a couple of weeks I should have it all worked out and will be able to tithe faithfully again. But for a few weeks I haven't tithed and it bothers me. Does God understand this? I have faith in God and I know He will always take care of me, good and bad.

(KJV)Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

"women ravished" (NIV says "women raped") - This is clearly advocating rape, please tell me how it can be explained differently.

(KJV)Numbers 31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

This is clearly advocating the rape of children, please tell me how it can be explained differently.

Try to avoid cliched attacks on your designated enemy group. Thoughtful answers are more interesting, at least here.

I have learned:

1. about ignosticism (no, not agnosticism) and what it means. Props to Zero Cool.

2. how I like cool and funny people more than those who happen to agree with me

3. more about separation of church and state

4. more about Dawkins' view of religion, general views of science, and the difficulty of theology itself

5. more about myself. I care more and less than I think I care about certain ideas and beliefs. I like people more than I think I do.

God and the bible were really true?

I am the first Christian in my family,.,,we have a long list of repetitive sinfull habits that are hard reveal...sometimes i lose hope that the bonds will be broken for my mother..i pray everyday...for her to be free...but i worry..her health is terrible due to bad habits...we do not get along anymore..she doesnt trust me...she doesnt recongniz me..i would love to hear from older Chrisitians who have been blessed with watching the birth of their close family or friends..

A mi padre le ______ sobre todo las peliculas historicas. Should I use gusta or gustan? I know it has to do with the object liked but todo really confuses me.

Lets say that you have been attending a church regularly and you have always donated money to them. And they love the fact that you are giving them money.
Now lets say you started a famous gay porn site, and the church new about it, and the website was your only source of income, so the money you gave to the church was from the sale of gay pornography, would the church care? Some people when they see something they believe to have been made by someone they love , immediately remember that somebody when they see his creations .They love that somebody and so their eyes see nothing else but the one who they believe to be the maker .Some people never think of anyone who had made themselves or anything they see though they pay lipservice to the person who they say, had made the things they see ; but do not believe in it really. Some people who firmly believe in somebody( saygod ) see him in all that they think that exist because of him.Some, though they proclaim that they are the sole ,strong, tough and only beleivers in Him do not see him at all anywhere and in anything he had made though they ascribe all sorts of miracles and incredible powers to Him.They arejust keeping in a cage like the ringhmaster of a circus companyand dictate terms to HIM too.Who among these is the person that really sees and believe in HIM.?

What I mean is this:
are any of the rituals from the JEWISH law? Does your church teach tithes? Do you have one person who stands in fron of the congregation, like the Law of Moses had a Levite do? Does your church ignore the teaching of how it is to be when Christians congregate, as taught in 1 Cor. 14?
Do you, as a group practice memorized prayer?
Do you have figures of Christ on a cross? Paintings of early Christians (the 'saints' or Mary)..
Are not the words of Christ enough for us to understand:
Ask me not anything any more, but ask the Father, who is in heaven, in my name.
Where is it understood of that, that we should pray to long dead humans who were saved sinners such as ourselves?

...Because, I am confused, there seems to be already words that describes such things:

- "Racism" against sexual orientation would be called homophobia

- and "racism" against religous beliefs are better known as prejudice

I am REALLY, REALLY confused on what are the limits of definitions for these words:

- Racism
- Prejudice
- Homophobia

Because, now a days, the marginal lines that defines each words (and such words) seems to be getting fuzzier and I often mix-up their meanings.

So, I guess that was my real question then...

There was a time when it could be said that hip-hop was the only voice Black people had. But its just rap now. And what is rap really saying. The message I hear is basically something like this:

"Look at me. I sell drugs. I've got a nice car. Lets get high and drunk and have sex"

Most mature cats aint really listen to the message of the songs just bouncin to the beat cause we know they aint talkin about nothin.

But these young kids are absorbing it and I think it is causing them to act obnoxious.
