This happened on my last question, they totally ruined a very interesting topic directed at Christians. They spewed hatred and were really nasty. They took every opportunity to blaspheme the Lord and insult Christianity. If you are atheist, why is it that so few of you are giving the respect that you accuse others of not giving you? If a question is NOT directed at you, why do you need to jump in?

My spiritual aunt died and before she past away she said the best things in life arent things. I agree 100%. My question is why people in general seem to think more is better when many have much more than they need? Isnt it better to be content with what you have and enjoy the now?

How exactly do you keep such a strong faith? God has not shown himself in thousands of years and nothing supernatural ever happens. On top of that, look at the massive amounts of evidence supporting evolution and the big bang theory. Now I am asking please do not flame me, I consider this a legitimate question because I have grown up as a Catholic, although I try to stay away from religion I still consider myself to believe in God and Jesus.

How about a basic fundamental question like: How do God, Jesus and the holy spirit relate to each other? Three different entities that are said to be all the same one. I stopped doing hard drugs years ago but I would need some good stuff to accept most of the answers I ever got on this one.

and the you get home and you are the greatest .... doing exactly the opposite that you were taught in church (well... depending in what they teach you there, but it looks bad to the eyes of anyone else and are not doing good to anyone) and act in a hateful manner to others who do not share beliefs with you and dedicate your life to gossip and diffamate others no matter what? and put down other religions and culture to just prove yourself right?

If so.... why do you go to church if you seem to be doing exactly what is not supposed to be taught @ church? .... unless your church encourages you to do that stuff **weird smiley here** ...... I doubt that there is a church that encourages that behavior.......

What can I do, also looking into and vegetable gardens that could use help in exchange for free veggies. Please give me your thoughts and advice. Thanks.

Ever since the beginning of 2007, I've been having a "vision" of a man with black hair and dark eyes. He's a white man and he kinda looks like a younger Christian Brando. I do not know why I am being given this vision. I don't know if this is someone I am going to meet, someone I should pray for, I don't think I know this man. In my vision he's not really doing anything he's just standing there looking at me. WHO IS THIS MAN?? WHY AM I GIVEN THIS VISION OF HIM?!? I have some psychic ability but it's not anything that I can control or "call forth" at will. I have prayed about this and I do not know who this man is, or what he wants, or what I am supposed to do. If anyone knows of a REAL psychic not a FAKE, I would gladly pay to find out the answer to this. I don't know what to do about this, or even if I am supposed to do anything at all. THIS IS A REAL SITUATION that I am going through and I need some answers to this. Please, no smart-a** b.s. I'm not kidding about this.

In the beginning of my marriage to my ex husband, one day I started to cough up blood. My ex and I both went down to the doctor and were tested for tuberculosis. They tested him just to be safe since he didn't have any symptoms at all. What they found was that I was completely alright, but he actually did have it and had to be on medication for 9 months which did make it go away.

Another odd thing has to do with my car when my son at 3 weeks was hospitalized and I had to get a biopsy. On the freeway, the engine belt broke. I know nothing about cars, so I didn't know. The car kept going out whenever I had to stop at the lights, but always managed to restart and finally stopped starting altogether right in front of the hospital. I told the mechanic what had happened after he told me that it was the belt, and he had this shocked look on his face. He told me that when the belt breaks, the car can not go anywhere. I had gone 20 extra miles than was logically possible.

She works in a rest. "cayote grill", i guess it's been around 4 yrs. now.
anyway, all she ever does is complain about the staff. How they discriminate her at work "with age remarks/age-ism, cut her down, don't invite her to places because of her age, sort of make fun of her personality quirks, ect"
Mostly the staff is all around in their early 20's. She's 42 [I think she said]
Anyway, I kinda find it hard to believe she gets crap constantly as she claims.
Do you think her co-workers are being to hard on her?
or they are just joking around once in awhile and she's greatly over reacting
I guess I am asking for her coz next time when she complains, I can come up w/a more realistic answer from someone who's in the restaurant biz themselves
{she says she constantly tells them off, do u think she should just ignore it}
so don't know what to say to this person anymore, can't relate!
any help would be appreciated, thank you

I wrote a really good poem for school, the only problem is i can't seem to translate i right into italian

Migration
Escaping the ruined beauty,
leaving their lifes in the past,
they couldn't turn back,
to what used to be luscious fields anad happy family homes,
was now a blank black ditch,
so they ran, they ran from disaster to the place they now call home

Someone who goes to a Church of Christ told me that they had these people come in and sing at the church, and they clapped their hands while singing. As a result, 20 people from the church got so mad that they left the church. Why is that?

I have been here for some months, regularly ask and answer questions and (generally) try to be respectful of other's beliefs even when I find them to be confusing to me or even foolish.

When asking questions I try to use words and style that are in keeping with my "targets". As an example - and only as that - when I ask questions specifically to Christians I often capitalize the word "He" when referring to Jesus. The reason I do this is because I feel it's most respectful to those I'm asking the question of.

On the other hand, I'm an agnostic and don't believe in these particular dogmas but rather am here mostly to learn about other's faiths, why they believe what they do, etc.

My question: Should I continue to use a style of writing that defers to, or uses what I perceive to be the grammatical customs of those I'm asking the question of (or those whose questions I'm answering) or is this being somewhat patronizing?
