Well, she must have done SOMETHING to deserve it

If someone deserves hell they deserve hell. Only the Holy spirit is to judge us so there must be a reason. It's really not that hard to get into the promised land though so I don't know why people always think that Hell is where they are going. Oh well.

People, study, study, study. There is a time during the millieum where those that just didn't get it, will be taught. It's not a second chance at all, but you will not have the many threads that will be woven into your robe, if you are not a follower of God when this time comes. Some are going to be naked as a jay bird, but they can still learn. Then if they choose not to believe, then it's bye bye. I leave it up to the Lord to do what is His will. It's not my call. Remember, those that have gone on to heaven before us, are indeed IN heaven. Some may be on one side of the gulf, or chasm as it is referred to, but it is still heaven, but no one 'goes to hell,' until after the millieum, and Satan is thrown into the pit.

No ... because God was kind enough to unite us both for eternity !!! On a more serious note, I am a Christian and do NOT subscribe to a "hell" where people are roasting on a wiener stick for ever because of God's alter-ego ! Not only does this "paint" God as a sadist - but is not a plausible Biblical dogma [doctrine]. Do the research - "hell" is a mistranslation of the Greek (New Testament was written initially in the Greek language) word "hades" , which is more appropriately translated as "grave" or "hole" - not a place where people burn forever ... very poor theology !!!

The idea of hell is a huge distortion of the truth instituted by the Catholic church. The main idea for this doctrine was to control people. The wording used in the in the scriptures translated as hell in many bibles, can also be rendered as pit and grave. Its amazing what you can learn with a lexicon, Strong's Concordance is invaluable also.

Other way round for me. She theoretically would go to heaven and myself the atheist to hell. I would rather deal with hell than live in heaven having my family member murdered, knowing they were a wonderful and moral human being but simply used their rational thought to conclude that there is no god. Sounds like her heaven would be worse than my hell.

You won't know sorrow or pain in heaven so you wouldn't care. In fact that's what heaven is and what "paradise" is to many Christians, a profound lack of knowledge, which explains much of their activity here on earth. You graduate from life, enter heaven and get a holy lobotomy.

So I'm in heaven and my dear, sweet mom is down in hell?

Biiiiig accounting failure.

God obviously doesn't run MYOB.

I'm flittering around up here eating cucumber sandwiches and playing lawn bowls with mother Teresa while all my incorrigible, despicable, randy mates are partying in hell along with my dear mom in her new G-string and nipple studs.

By now they have probably talked her into getting bulk tatts and more body piercings?

Get me OUTTA HERE !!!

(Does god do soul swapsies with the devil I wonder?)

How do you know she didn't accept Christ before she died? A bit late, but still ! Everybody does something to deserve hell..And the salvation we have is through Jesus.

No, I won't be mad at God. I'll be mad at mom for not accepting repenting and Christ when she had the chance.

Actually, I won't be mad at all. When standing before my God I will only think of Him and worship Him. All troubles will fade away.
