an’-ser: In our English Bible the word "answer" does not always mean a simple reply to a question.

1. In the Old Testament:

Six different words are translated by answer.

(1) It is frequently used where no question has been asked and in such cases it means a word, a statement.

(2) It also means a response (Job 21:34; 34:36).

(3) It often means a declaration or proclamation from God where no question has been asked. See the many passages that read: "The Lord answered and said."

(4) The other words translated "answer" or "answered" in the Old Testament are unimportant shadings and variations.

2. In the New Testament:

The words translated "answer" are not so varied.

(1) It sometimes means an apology, a defense (1Pe 3:15; Ac

Why is it that preachers have to go through some sort of school to be preachers or pastors? If they are a man of God they shouldnt need a schooling!!!! And why is that Pastors and Christians always speak of prosperity instead of living right

A born again Christians told me that saying a Hail Mary is a sin, because it means you are praying to Mary when you can only pray to God, because it makes Mary a mediator between man and God when Jesus is our only mediatory, because it calls Mary the "Mother of God" which is blasphemy, and because it calls Mary "full of grace" when only God is full of grace. How much of this is true?

okay so here are the clues

1)he forced his own son to sacrifice himself because some people didnt believe in him
2)he killed countless innocent animals and even people in a flood
3)he sends you to hell for not believing in him even though he hasnt given you any proof
4)he lied to two people saying they could eat from any tree except one(knowledge), but kicked them out because he didnt want them to eat from another tree(immortality)
5)he sends gays to hell even though he made them gay as he did "create everybody" or he "made everything"
6)he wanted to handicap two people(to not know the difference between right and wrong)
7)he knocked up a woman who already had a boyfriend
8)abandoned his own son when he needed him the most(Jesus did say "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me")
9)he sends people of other religions to hell(even though there's no way of knowing which god is the right one)
10)is against people touching themselves sexually(even though they dont hurt anybody)

Look at Benoit.
What about Guerra.
Every single wrestler who has died was a Christian.
Facts do not lie.
We have an epidemic in our country of Christianity killing our wrestlers.
Please do not say Christianity had nothing to do with it when Benoit placed bibles beside his family.
How many atheist wrestlers have died?
nada, zilch, ZERO!
I prove my point.
I am just so amazing that I amaze myself.

As a straight woman, I have trouble understanding this. If they are attracted to women, then why does masculinity turn them on? I would think that if they want masculine partners, then they'd go for men! I'm not a lesbian but I sometimes find women attractive and think "If I were into women I'd go for her...." and they are always feminine. I just don't find masculine women to be sexy (or feminine gay men, for that matter.)
I'm not trying to be homophobic or attack the lesbian community. I'm just curious.

Imagine that you have a person who is always good. Always makes decisions in the interest of "good". Does he have freewill? Is someone who is morally perfect more than a benevolent robot? Obviously this pertains to Jesus but it is a broader wuestion than just him. Could Jesus have sinned if he wanted to? If not then did he have freewill? If so then he DID have the capacity for evil.

I am a Roman Catholic. Today I had a long discussion with a born again Christian and he said a lot of things I could not respond to. He showed me Matthew 23:9 which says don't call any man Father. Yet we Catholics call our priests Father. How do I respond to this?

My opinion: Society to a large extent does define our happiness (for example, that we need good friends, good job, good looks, good things, etc. to be happy/fulfilled), and for many, there's nothing wrong with that cause they work for it and get it and live happy lives. But then, there are many who seem "ok" with life, not exactly happy or unhappy (a mix of both here and there), but what seems troubling is that they have no desire to change their lives for the better (of course, there is no real need to; one can live the way s/he wishes to). I think it's because society has set the bar for them, and they look only at what society says and not within themselves, thus never ever realizing their potential within. They just settle for less and basically "live and let live." And then there are those who may have incredible talent within but because they didn't fit into society for one reason or another, they could never thrive and just faded away unfortunately (or fortunately).

I'm 16 year old straight guy, I have the world's biggest crush on this girl at high school. My heart tells me I was meant to be with her. After a year I finaly talked to her, but I got a meassage saying that she is a lesbian.

Now, is she sure that she is one, or does she think she is? She is the only one I want. Many people tell me that there will be other girls, I don't want anyone else! She's an angel to me.

She's so amazing, I really hope this is a stage of confusion for her because I can't live with out her, she's only 16 as well. I'm older than her by a week or so I belive.

I don't want to live the rest of my life alone wishing I could be with her cause I'll never want anyone but her....

Someone please answer this, she's all I want in life. Some kind help from others will be apperciated.

Or if that someone never hears the truth of God?

Faith comes by hearing & hearig a Word about Christ / God.

If one never hears about God, then how can one sense the reality of God?
