I don't think that something is wrong with Scientific Method.
My definition of Atheism in my own words:
It means that there is a belief that there is no God. A denial of a supreme being.
What Atheists ATTEMPT to do is say that it stops there.
For those Atheists who come to Yahoo!Answers to preach daily, it is not true that it stops there.
What many of them do is expect others to believe what they believe. Not all, but many. It is no longer for them to carry on with their own idea and live it, because they typically come to places like the 'Religion And Spirituality' forum and espouse their beliefs. So they are preaching their belief just like a religious person. They are answering questions about God religiously.
Then they attempt to link logic and science as a part of their response. That is the most unintelligent thing for them to do! Because they have no proof of what they espouse, it is NOT a scientific ideology, there was no scientific method involved at all! And then saying that it is a belief that is derived through logic, when no logic at all is necessary, only faith.
So they do not have science, they do not have logic, and to top it off; they are in denial about the whole thing. Their denial is illustrated when they call what they believe 'anti-faith', or 'anti-belief'. Well, if it were anti-faith, then they would not even trust their own ideas!
So it is not anti-faith or anti-belief. It is fully enveloping themselves in their belief that 'there is no God' to manifest as a complete ideology, complete with mantras ( "There is no God" ; "The Bible is a Fairytale" , etc. ) , and systems counter to that of any God, especially the one in the Bible.
They have their literature, especially from Atheist sites which they paste to their replies as dedicated as the most pious Christian handing out Chick tracts, and announce their belief as being the only truth allowable to intelligent people.
So those Atheists who come to the 'Religion and Spirituality' forum from day to day are becoming as religious as any other religion. Not making themselves different at all from those they complain about. The more they are here, the more like a religion they are becoming.

For the record, Christians did NOT invent scientific method...some of it goes back to ancient Egypt...Aristotle also practiced scientific method, prior to Christianity. The first documentation of experimental scientific method is generally accepted to be done by the Muslims who really invented it, perfected it. Al-Biruni (d. 1050 CE), the Persian genius of the time perfected it. He conducted precise experiments on laws of gravitation, momentum, and motion. Among his successful experiments, were the most precise measurement of the specific gravity of precious stones and metals, mathematical calculation of earth's radius, mathematical determination of earth's solar orbit, and the measurement of the height of mountains by seconds and degrees. He also discovered the First Law of Motion.
So, maybe that's why some don't like it...

Because with scientific method and calculation there is always other factors that effect the answer. I read articles in the paper all the time that begin.... "Scientist were wrong in their first analysis about such and such" whether it be our Solar System, Space, nature.... they are constantly wrong about stuff. Why dont you read up on science there's lots out there and see how maany times they are wrong.

Sarcastic, disrespectful atheistite: There is nothing wrong with the scientific method. The problem with science arises only when some scientists stick their arrogant and presumptuous noses into philosophy, metaphysics and theology, areas in which most of them are utterly ignorant and incompetent.

The thing is that if you accept the premise that the Bible is inerrant that means that things that contridict it must be wrong.
Science contradicts the Bible.
Logical people say "Then the Bible is wrong". Religious people say "Then science is wrong."
There is an element of Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle to it.

Nothing as long as you give credit to Jesus and God, they could have created the earth with "the scientific method".
