Me? This past weekend, I was flipping thru channels and I saw a commercial on Univision (hispanic people will know) and there was a talk show clip of the children of the illegals that are getting deported. Well these kids were crying that they want to see their parents. It was sad. Cuz they have a life here. Most of them this is all they know. And no, Im not being all pro immigrantion or anything it was just really sad to me. Just the commercial made me cry. Forget watching the show I'd be a mess. So when did you last cry?

Awhile back I was at the airport, standing in line at the outdoor baggage check-in. My large, bright RED suitcase was standing up with my laptop (secured in a laptop carry case) on top of it. There was a rather errr, ahem, large woman in line next to me. She finished checking her bags and was waving her hands around animatedly talking with her husband. During her apparent excitement her very large rear end bumped REALLY hard into my laptop sending it flying with a loud thud as it landed. She turned around, looked at me standing there with my mouth open, looked down at my laptop, and said woops! and just walked away. No apology, nothing. My suitcase was right next to me! My attention was mildly diverted towards the skycap or I would have grabbed it. I didn't have time at the moment to chase her down and plug the laptop in to see if still worked. Fortunately, it works fine but a large chunk broke off the corner. What would you have done? Figured it was your own fault or chased her down?

I see this question and variations on here multiple times a day. This has to be the greatest fallacy I have ever seen. Atheists say if we can prove God exists they will believe. The truth is no evidence would convince all of them. The Bible proves this. The Israelites were lead out of Egypt with God going before them as a cloud during the day and fire at night. Many did not believe. Many ended up worshiping a golden calf. If they did not believe and they had God's presence what makes you think you would?

While Jesus lived many saw Him and His miracles and yet did not believe. Would you be different? The miracles did not convince them why would it convince you?

After Christ rose from the dead He appeared to those who followed him and yet some still doubted. If they saw their risen savior and doubted what makes you think you would believe if you saw the evidence?

There is more. But the point is simple. You ask for proof. You say if you had it you would believe. Even when proof was

Just one single proof that one animal became another. The only evidence I have seen presented well demonstrates adaptive evolution, but there has been no proof of one animal becoming another.

BTW, I am an environmental scientist.

First, allow me to verify...

... this belongs in this section. NOT Mythology and Folklore. I am a Pagan, and I worship Gods and Goddesses, and know many a Pagan who do as well.

So, from me saying I'm Pagan, you should all be aware this is a section for light-hearted joking.

For example, I see Hathor or Dionysus dying from Alcohol Poisoning, the heavy drinkers they are.

Person who is most creative and thinks up the most wins the ten points.

People who say this belongs in Mythology and Folklore or spend their post trying to inform me that I worship Satan or that they simply do not exist get a thumbs down.

This. Is. A. Question. Meant. For. Fun.

So, just, chill out.

Again...

... THIS IS A QUESTION FOR FUN. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL LIKE YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN LIGHTHEARTED YET MORBID HUMOR, THEN PLEASE MOVE ON!

Thankies.

The bible says that the root of all evil is MONEY. That it is easier for the camel to enter the 'eye of the needle' than for the rich to enter the kingdom.

But I also know of many christians who believe that if God likes them, they will be made RICH in this world. Otherwise, if they are poor, it means God is not watching over them. Is this true? That God gives you evil (money) when He loves you?

Some others believe that they should have the best of both worlds. Rich now and Rich after death. Of course this is an ideal case cos in the context of the bible, being rich now usually just means being poor after death.

So, as christians, should we strive to be rich now or rich later? Or is the faith non-existent and replaced by the fear of death and the greed of money that they call themselves christians only to deceive themselves and others that the kingdom of God awaits them while they take their time revelling amongst themselves on earth?

Where is faith?

The very idea that you have been created makes you a thing, it takes away your being.
You can be a being only if there is no God.
God and you as a being, cannot coexist.
That's why I say I am sure God does not exist, because I see beings everywhere.

How do you explain so many destitute and starving people, the high school massacres, the many shootings and murders every day, the pathetic response to the New Orleans disaster, the drug cultures and associated crime, the corruption, the disenfranchised youth, the domestic violence, the crimes against women, the heavy handed and evidently dishonest foriegn policies, the blatant racism...?

While happy to criticise other countries who question the creationist and christian fundie lies, deciet, skullduggery and insularity, you seem to refuse to see your own back yard.

Don't judge others lest you be judged yourself..

after playing in r&s for a while now, i am simply astounded at the level of ignorance shown by christians of all stripes regarding these two subjects. to be fair however, it is the catholics of all people who seem to be the most open minded about evolution, not in agreement mind you, but at least open to the possibility...

Are Jesus' teachings pacifistic? For example...turn the other cheek, love your enemies and pray for your persecutors... Should all people who claim to be followers of Jesus be pacifists?

I bought all the available dvds and have a small statue of Bill Own. I am a lot like Compo, sometimes Foggy. Who appreciates the beautiful photography and theme music. And the outstanding cast of character.
