How do you explain so many destitute and starving people, the high school massacres, the many shootings and murders every day, the pathetic response to the New Orleans disaster, the drug cultures and associated crime, the corruption, the disenfranchised youth, the domestic violence, the crimes against women, the heavy handed and evidently dishonest foriegn policies, the blatant racism...?
While happy to criticise other countries who question the creationist and christian fundie lies, deciet, skullduggery and insularity, you seem to refuse to see your own back yard.
Don't judge others lest you be judged yourself..

I think it is neglect and poor educational values . They really should demand ethics and some law be taught from grade school levels and up instead of waiting forever . Everybody has a fundamental need for this even more so than other standard subjects for what good are reading and arithmetic and history if you are serving time in a penitentiary

So what do you suggest? That people who engage in drugs, school shootings, murders, crimes and corruption should be imprisoned by Christians and forced to repent under some form of Sharia-like law? How are personal choices possibly the fault of Christians? On one hand, you want Christians to back out of politics altogether, and on the other hand, you want to blame them for the ills of society and people who do not practive a Christian lifestyle. Which is it? Make a choice! Do you want an absence of values or do you want mandatory and enforced Christian practice?

Go to the politics section and all that stuff is blamed on Republicans, go to the Religion section and Christians are blamed.
How about this...take responsibility for yourself and your actions and choices. Yes, you are your brothers keeper.
Let me ask you, when was the last time you clothed and fed a homeless person? When was the last time you counseled a battered wife?
My guess would be never. Yes, Christianity has had a positive effect on the United States, it is responsible for the end of slavery, for prison reform, for homeless shelters across the country, for civil and equal rights for minorities.
You misquote "judge not lest ye be judged"...perhaps you should take a cue from "remove the log from your own eye before you try and remove the mote from another".

"As for the mess the schools are in because of all the shootings; ask why prayer was taken out of schools. Ask why Islam and foot washing is allowed in schools, but Christian clubs are not."
Christian CLUBS are allowed in schools, you dork. We've got one in mine. Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Prayer IS allowed in school, but it is not led by the teachers--nor should it be. To do so would be infringing on other's private beliefs. Students are, however, allowed to pray quietly to themselves whenever they feel the need.
I had a friend of mine with her head ducked as she text-messaged someone and was caught by the dean, who'd hesitantly asked if she had a cell phone. When my friend looks abashed and said she did, he looked relieved;
"Good, because I was worried that I was interrupting a prayer--by all means, I wouldn't have wanted to do that!"
Also, SEVERAL of the founding fathers were very heavily ANTI-Christianity...Thomas Jefferson especially. Do some research.
Morality can be found without the Bible--just look at all the things that make people suffer: stealing, murdering, etc., and you've found what should be against the law.
Prayer in schools is perfectly fine. But the school should NOT force religion on its students--I am horrified that you think that should be so! Also, the founding fathers were ESCAPING religious persecution--WHY would they EVER make our nation based on religion? Don't you think that would be awfully hypocritical of them? (And don't you say no, you ignorant twit).

You are right. As a whole we are all responsible for what is happening in our own backyard. I think that we have had a tendency to close our eyes to it many times. As a Christian myself, I know that personally, I get to thinking that we need something to help all of us out of the rut we are wallowing in, but honestly, at this point in America, I don't think any "man", Christian or non will dig us out.

You are a very unhappy person. You should shoulder your part of the blame and then you might lighten up.

"Infiltration into politics"???? You DO understand, don't you, that this country was formed on Christian/Judeo principals.
As for the mess the schools are in because of all the shootings; ask why prayer was taken out of schools. Ask why Islam and foot washing is allowed in schools, but Christian clubs are not.
Get a grip. Then get a CLUE!
