Is there something you know you have to do, just have to do it, but don't like doing it and put it off time and time again, even if it upsets someone in your life?

There is an email flying around the 'net asking that everyone display a flag somewhere on that day. (The email states Monday, September 11th, but the 11th is Tuesday). So, will you display a flag? We should never forget.

The Christian church does a lot of outreach, bringing food and medicine to needy people all over the world. They don't care if the people are black, white, Christian, atheist, or Muslim. They make it their business to help everyone unconditionally. My church can't afford a building so we have to meet in a movie theater every Sunday. We don't even have a real altar. But we still give our offerings to a childrens' home in Africa so the kids there can eat and grow up healthy. My question is, do Muslims do the same? Why don't I ever hear about Muslim missionaries bringing help & healing where it's needed? It seems that in Islam it's considered a sin against Allah to help anyone who isn't a Muslim. In fact, many Muslims have said this themselves - they will only offer help to someone in need if that person is a Muslim or wants to convert to Islam. I just want to know why? And if I'm wrong, where in the Quran does it say Muslims should offer help to anyone regardless of background?

Obviously I wouldn't expect you to post it verbatim and possibly get yourself reported. And please, please don't post the senders name.

This is part of the worst one I have received:
~when him and his father drops dead and when his mother lives in misery and disabled and unable to speak, but can still see and hear, but cannot move and gets fed through a straw!!! In JESUS Name I pray it amen

When I was growing up (in the '80s), I grew up with the phrase Oriental when talking about my nationality. I was talking to a Chinese man (he is in his early 20s) last year and he was offended when I said something about me being an Oriental and he put up a big stink, which I found amusing. And then recently, on here, I read someone making a point about the term Oriental. I do not care whether I am classified as Asian or Oriental...neither offends me because I don't really care about being politically correct.

What is the big deal about being called an Asian or an Oriental besides what you hear (maybe) from other people/media telling you that it's better to be called an Asian? I mean, did you grow up with some negativity surrounding the term Oriental? Is it a personal dislike for that word when talking about your nationality?

But meanwhile Muslims across the Middle East are planning to gain nuclear power so they can usher in the end of the world by fire and total destruction.

So my question remains.

Why do most unbelievers condemn Christians for wanting their beautiful messiah to restore peace on earth?...

but it's perfectly ok for muslims to want to blow up the world with as many nuclear bombs as they can handle?

I'm just wondering why Christianity is always discussed more than any other religion on the face of the earth.

Muslims are using their small children as suicide bombers in the middle east, but you unbelievers criticize Christians for coming to your front door to expose you to the savior of man?

You unbelievers don't make any logical sense.

God Bless!

I'm 24 years old and STILL have not read the bible. Honestly, I hate to read anything longer than a magazine article, so the thought of reading the entire Bible is really intimidating and overwhelming. Are there any websites out there that will send me a few bible verses a day until I've "read" the bible in its entirety? I have a few Study Bibles, but I just can't get into them. My husband bought me "a study guide to read the Bible in 1 year", but the thought of it taking a whole year discourages me.

If a person says, "I went to college with him".. Does that mean that they were enrolled in the same college but they took different courses and they were never even classmates? OR Does the phrase mean that they were in the same college, enrolled in the same course, and took the same subjects?

Is there even one REAL scholar, whose field is Egyptian mythology, who says with any certainty that there is ANY similarity between Jesus and Horus? And if there is even ONE real scholar in Egyptian mythology who says so, do more than a very small contingent of scholars believe him or her?

For a couple bonus questions, why is it that every time a question is asked about Horus and Jesus, anyone who disagrees (using real sources) with there being any similarity, their answers are given multiple thumbs-down?

Why are the writings of real scholars dismissed, and some people choose to believe books like "Sixteen Dying and Rising Gods", "The Golden Bough" and "The Jesus Mysteries", and movies like Zeitgeist, which almost directly plagiarizes those books, instead?

I think it's time for schools (Pre-school, Elementary, Junior and High School) to teach etiquette because obviously parents (not all) are not doing their job. I'm only 18 and notice how kids have NO manners what so ever. They need to know how to act at home and public... they're becoming an embarrassment!

Religion turns the focus towards the individual, admonishing his crimes to a god (see confession and prayer)

all an atheist has is their conscience to live with, it is harder to forgive yourself than just believe a mighty power has forgiven you.

Religious gatherings can be seen objectively as the tradition and social events that they are by atheists, and the bible as a fine collection of stories, historical comment and ancient fokelaw, and not the word of a god.
