I enjoyed a special on the History channel this week about the book of Revelation. There are those who believe it was written as a commentary towards the political leaders of that time rather than an apocolyptic vision.

What say you? What do you enjoy reading, for whatever reason?

I was reading an article in a magazine and the woman writing it was atheist. She said that some times she feels jealous of religious people because they have something that they feel so strongly about and that they have so much faith in. They're able to overcome insecurities and anxiety because they know that only their God, or other deity, matters. I was just wondering if any one else ever feels this way??

For example, should we view murder as an immoral action because it deprives another person of their life and puts them and their family through pain, or just because The Ten Commandments says so?

Doesn't having a moral code of conduct endorsed by a 'supreme deity' take away from understanding the cause and effect of our actions? Doesn't simply saying "God says this is bad" hinder us from understanding why?

I just found out that someone very close to me does not believe in God. It is very hard for me considering my close relationship with Christ. My question is why do you believe in God, because I am looking for things I can tell this person.

God is not real. Satan is not real. Religion was man made. It's not something to argue about, it's not a "belief" it's fact.

get over it.

If you believe in God, then you should accept the fact that our lives are in His hands (figuratively speaking) and that He is All Wise and what we cannot comprehend is that everything that happens in our lives happens for a reason.

If we are sick we remember God and ask for help. But when we are in good health we don't remember God to thank Him for our good health and our situation in life.
Isn't this a bit ungrateful?

Likewise, God sends events in our lives, whether good or bad, to test us and see how we react so that we may redeem ourselves and raise ourselves as good servants of God. Ironically though, this is when most of us forget our place and forget the many, many favours our Lord has bestowed upon us.

Our lives should be 50% Patience and 50% Gratitude.
