I just found out that someone very close to me does not believe in God. It is very hard for me considering my close relationship with Christ. My question is why do you believe in God, because I am looking for things I can tell this person.

Christianity has a rich history which started with the jews at the beginning of time. The bible is filled with historical facts that Archaeologists use and has been proven very reliable. We have over 5000 documented ancient findings of scripture, many in different languages, all the same. WE have the dead sea scrolls to prove this also. The Vatican just bought 2 gospels dating 90 ad, the same as we have today. There is prophesies that has come to pass from the bible that proves it's reliability. Over 300 just for the man Jesus.

We have non christian evidence of Jesus from Tacitus and Josephus both historians. And a Governor named Pliny the Younger who all wrote about "Christos" and his followers the Christan's.

Archaeologists have found the tomb of Caiaphas who was the Pharisee that brought Jesus to trial.
Jesus WAS a real person who was an historical figure. Even well read Atheists KNOW this.

We have eye witnesses who had every thing to loose by claiming to be a follower of Jesus. Why? When Jesus was killed they scattered. Afraid. BUT when they saw he was resurrected they became bold. Why?
Since the bible is reliable, and Jesus WAS here you must decide.
Was he a nut? A liar, Or who he claimed to be.

For me, I personally have had MANY supernatural experienced with God/ Jesus. So many in fact I started keeping a journal.
God is real, Jesus is The Christ and there is salvation in no other name.

YES.

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Abraham did, and I do, I want too! the bible is all about the fact that very few people want to believe.
People have a history if the do or do not believe in God or on the bible.
The whole earth was filled with violence at 1656 years after it began to be populated, only 8 was saved. So the story goes.

In Sodom and Gomorrah about 450 years after the flood, they wanted no law of the land or no law of God. only three left out of that place. So the story goes.

Every body exist together and the sun rises on all and all exist about the same.

Because without God, nothing I do actually matters. I can be the greatest human ever to live, and then when I die it was totally pointless. There is no point in living to get rich. Even living just to help the poor is ultimately worthless. The poor will also die, and if you made their life better it wont matter after they die, because nothing will be remembered.
Jesus Christ gives my life a purpose beyond living for the world. Humans have a natural desire to do great things, and without God, this is utterly pointless.

How fascinating that you do not know enough about your own beliefs that you seek others to tell you how to think. This is a common Christian problem; believing in the preposterous, needing irrational, illogical faith to believe the really bizarre, and relying on religious leaders to give you all the answers.
It just could be that your friend has things figured out a bit better than you and you are worried that your faith might be shaken by reason, logic and data.
Good luck with your coming adventures.

I think believing in God is more of a personal thing. YOU have to experience God working in YOUR life. YOU have to feel God helping YOU in some situation. YOU have to believe He is there. You can't tell someone why to believe in God. Its something have to experience them self. God has helped me through many situations and I've felt God working through out my life.

There's no good reason to believe in any gods.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist. People believe in specific gods because of indoctrination from an early age, tradition, hallucinations, fear of torture (for gods sadistic enough to threaten it) and other similarly illogical reasons. But no gods exist in reality; these are all stories, created for people who were scared of the world long before we understood it. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

Can't you accept the fact that your friend is as smart as you and s/he can believe in different things? You should agree to disagree and feed off of eachothers differences.

Ask her to explain creation without God.

Then once she implodes, put her back together and give her a hug!
