I enjoyed a special on the History channel this week about the book of Revelation. There are those who believe it was written as a commentary towards the political leaders of that time rather than an apocolyptic vision.

What say you? What do you enjoy reading, for whatever reason?

My favorites are Matthew and James. I like Matthew because it is a little more detailed on some of the accounts of Jesus' life. Also, because it was written by a notorious sinner. A tax collector, hated in his time. Jesus saw through His sin and knew what he would become...offers hope to a dieing world. John is great too, don't get me wrong...I just personally like Matthew. I like James because it is a short overview of how Christians should live. Every time I read from it, I get revelation to whatever situation I'm in. I most often quote from these two books when helping friends know how to walk the walk.

I can say that I'm a tennis racket, or that my hair is made of spaghetti but just because I say those things doesn't make them true. Many people call Jesus Lord but only with their mouth, they profess Him with their mouth but deny Him with their life. If they don't submit to His Lordship, If they don't obey Him He is not by definition, their Lord.

I have long loved the Psalms... so much wisdom... emotion... praise and edification...

But lately I have found great comfort in Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. They had such power and strength in their beliefs - yet grieved and struggled just like we do today.

They give me strength and hope.

Peace.
