A man is more likely to ask a woman, "Are you ticklish?" instead of "Can I tickle you?". Generally, a man will ask the lady if she is ticklish when he is flirting with her (and he generally will follow-up by tickling her to answer his question for himself.
As long as the tickling is playful and respectful or her limits and desires, it is generally fun and OK. It is not OK if he goes to long, to far or too hard.

Guys only ask that if you 2 are EXTREMELY close friends, or 99.99% of the time, they ask that because they want to tickle you and get closer to you because they are interested, and because its an easy way to be able to touch you in a non perverted way without seeming creepy.

men? I did it when I was twelve years old when I didn't know how to express myself around girls. see. we couldn't just say....I want to touch you, so we had to make up some BS stuff like are you ticklish....etc. if a MAN does it then I would have to say he is either a (a)f-ing moron or (b)hasn't mustered enough courage to say, "so would you like to come to my place(and get tickled)."

that would be dumb. i have never asked if i could tickle someone and only a few times asked if someone was ticklish

Well I don't ask. If I'm fooling around round or flirting I'll just sneak up behind a girl and poke her on her sides.

I guess I am too old for that. Now-a-days I just say "Hey, Bebbe! Wanna fool around?" Still works every now and then!!

Where I live some guys ask other girls but they are usually a couple. Or they are good freinds and just playing around.
