Some People Call on God DAILY, to get Guidance on Every situation, ive seen, .. like yrs. ago I was Interested in this Girl, and she said God will tell me if You are the Right one. I went HUH !?! and im not thinking about some Eternal Union of Sactamony, was just wantin' to Grab a Burger & Beer, were we could watch a Cubs BB game. Geeeeszzzz ! wanted to say, but didnt. Like Do ask God if it is a good time to take a trip to the Bathroom to take a Leak* Edit Tinkle? I grew up in a RomanCatholic Enviorment/Family. I cant Remember asking for Gods "Advice" I will Yell Out to GOD when I need REAL Help like loosing my Grip from a High Place. Why these people BOTHER God 20 times a day with all this BS, Their dress color, their cute bf, etc well I Surely Know that GOD is a VERY BUSY MAN !! due to the Incredible Amount of Requests. And People Should LEAVE GOD ALONE, cuz Bushe might need Gods VOICE Again. Bushe Just Spoke to a Group and said GOD Told him To ATTACK IRAQ. to Bring that Country Democracy and Freedom. The Scarey part of that BS is that many MANY Religious FREAKS in Amer ACTUALLY BELIEVE that Rhino Plop !! in your Browser Bar Type In: www.zeitgeistthemovie or a variable simular wording FF >> to about the 7:45 minute mark. A VERY INTERESTING "Take" on The Origin of The Bible/Christianity/Religions... its spelled ZEITGEIST

In the absence of "God", we atheists must be self-reliant in the face of hardship. But sometimes, when it gets really hard, we need each other. Their ought to be an atheist church where we could find each other in times of real hardship.

Once, I put a note with my name and number into a bottle and cast it into the sea. I was hoping that someone would call. I waited and waited, but no one called. Is that something like prayer?

Atheists hope and believers pray. Is there a real difference between hope and prayer? Atheists in a foxhole really, really, really hope, believe me!

Of course, if there were a "God" that listened to prayers, that would be a difference. Thomas Jefferson and most of the Founding Fathers did not believe in a listening "God". They believed in a watchmaker "God" who wound up the universe like a clock and put it on a shelf and never looked at it again.

We atheists in a foxhole can only hope that Lady Luck will look kindly upon us. Is Lady Luck the same as "God"? How would we know the difference?

Does "God" answer prayers according to the laws of probability, like a throw of the dice? Einstein, in an argument about Heisenberg's uncertainty theory, said, "God does not throw dice!". Bohr told Einstein, "Stop telling God what to do!". If those guys couldn't figure it out, what chance do we have?

Maybe there is no real difference between atheists and believers, just semantic confusion.

That's a terrible thought to have. This is all so bewildering. I'm sorry I answered your question. Now, this is getting really, really hard. I wish I had some help with this. Where's that atheist church?

"Wake up o sleeper and arise from the dead,
and let the Light of Christ shine upon you"
this is my prayer for you today.
May our Father, Creator of the Heavens and Earth who knew you before you were born, manifest HIS Mercy and Love in your life in a way that you will not be able to deny HIS existence.
His Peace and love
Shalom

I don't have one. Any for least or rent? I would like a god that actually answers prayers, wants to end wars, omnipotence is a big plus but not necessary, omniscient would really help in Vegas and then he/she/it could pay for themselves.

We haven't spoken to each other in over a year.

why do you reject the god hypothesis out of hand ? do you have a positive proof he does not exist ? no ? then your rejection is just an arrogant act of prejudice and bias, isn't it ?
besides why an atheist is obsessing over something which does not exist, silly, isn't it ?

Yes. I believe He loves me. I know what John felt when he was referred as the one who was loved by Jesus.
