2) Which book says the Christian preaching is in vain if Jesus Christ is not risen from the dead?

I'm a buddhist
Budda wanted us to not just follow what he said but test it too, like meditate upon it, think for ourselves what we thought of his teaching if it was right or not.
that's my primary belief; Buddhism
so we are allowed to have conversations with atheists, muslims, and many other religons while considering what they teach us with no harm. I am reading the Quran and Bible.
When people debate with each other (mainly I notice this in religous debates) it seems like they're not considering what they're saying. They go around poking fun but they don't seem to consider if the other person contradicting them is right.
When you argue out defending your religon do you even consider what someone of another belief is saying? Or if you're atheist do you consider what the religious person is saying?

*by the way this is not part of the question but you can e-mail me or post on here; what do you believe is the *true* religon and why? because I am going to teach soon*

Constantly passes judgements about others?

I heard this nasty rumor that there are going to be a lot of christians that are going to find out Jesus never knew them, and so they'll be judged with the same measure that they judged others.

So, if the rumor is true, which is worse: the person that never believed, or the person that believed and broke the rules anyway?

She is a recent convert from Christianity. I've assisted her with as much information as I could find about Wicca and other nature religions. I've also taught her all I know about Native American medicine. What else can I do to make her journey easier? I have a great deal of respect for Wicca, and am happy that she, like my daughter, has followed her own path to this particular belief system. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am christian but in my family we have thugs, atheist, theist, unitarian, catholic, baptist, sharmans and a voodoo doctor. My atheist aunt emailed me a joke I posted it and got ripped a new one because ppl thought I disliked atheist and I don't dislike them or any of the other beliefs that are in my family. They all have exposed me to many different ways of thinking and I thank them but I know what I believe and for that even their friends and I have great respect for each other. So I have met different believer and just like any person some ppl I like some I don't but just like in my family some I like more than others but they will aways have my respect because they have a conviction and stand on what they believe. The one common factor is that we all do love each other and allow each other to disagree but not to the extent of verbal, mental or physical abuse. In all, can you like ppl you know and except them more than ppl you don't know or do you need to know them to except them?

i have been looking at some of the answers in the religion section and then going and looking at some of the profiles, especially of the people who seem to have a really strong stance for christianity just to see what other questions/answers they are putting on here. one guy, coolcat something or other, professes to be a jw but had all these questions about rap music. if you're a jw... you are not supposed to listen to such music, right? also.... why do the christians become so hateful against people who have other religious viewpoints.... aren't you supposed to be peaceful, like jesus?
stop being so hypocritical and pay attention to what you're leaving for answers and questions b/c people can and do look at them to see how truly devout you proclaim to be.

Check this out:

"We have been taught that Christ is the firstborn of God, and we have declared above that he is the Logos of whom every race of men were partakers. And those who lived according to reason (logos) are Christians, even though they have been thought atheists; as among the Greeks, Socrates and Heraclitus, and men like them; and among the barbarians, Abraham and Ananias, and Misael, and Elias, and many others whose actions and names we now decline to recount, because we know it would be tedious."
-St. Justin Martyr, First Apology 46

So, the very first "Defender" (apologist) of the faith, writing less than a hundred years after Jesus died, thinks that anyone who lives according to reason (the logos) is actually a Christian of sorts.... What do YOU say?

So, I was reading a recent review of Hilary Duff's latest music. They say she's grown up in this album. Well, does this mean that part of growing up and maturing is using your body to promote illicit sexual relations amongst young people, which in turn causes unwanted pregnancies, no self respect, and uncomfortable and deadly STDs such as HIV (plague of the present)? No wonder Jesus Christ said those who were like children would inherit the Kingdom of God.

Ok, so I am interested in exploring Mormonism as a possible faith option. The only problem is, I can't find anywhere to get specific questions answered. I've tried the LDS website, but they just have genral questions on there, not specific ones. I tried going to a service once, but was virtually ignored. That wasn't really a good way to get questions answered anyway. Any help?

Or that the world isn't gonna revolve around you? I'm not trying to make the world revolve around me or cater to me. I have special needs. & I get more verbal attacks since I'm mentally disabled.

& has anyone ever told you that the world doesn't have to understand or care about your disability?

That makes me feel like I don't have a right to live. I'm disabled & deserve the right to special accommodations.
